Phishy, time to put down the pipe.
Have you watched him in games? If so, I find it hard to believe that you can't see what a great player he is especially for a youngster. Now I too question whether the EPL would be a great fit for him. I think he'd do better in one of the other big leagues.

five years from now, when Robinho is acclaimed as the best player in the world, remember how clever you were to make this prognostication.
this article is wonderful sports journalism, inspirational, forceful, elegantly written. thanks for posting it.

Prolly seen him in only like 10 or so games.. so prolly not a good sample size...
he's a GOOD player... i'm not saying that... best in the world in 5 years???? thats madness.. if AW were to sign this kid, i would be ALL FOR IT! but what im saying is, he wouldnt get in the squad AT ALL.. i thought diego was a good player too.... he's looking very average in portugal~

Fair enough. I've seen him in about 20-30 games (probabaly a bit more since I try to catch their matches whenever I get a chance and I have FSE so I get to see his Libertadores and copasud games) but still have questions about how he'd do in a more difficult league. However, I think he has great potential and would probably fit Arsenal's offense better than most EPL clubs. I've always felt that Diego was good but not great and certainly not as good as some of his wacky fans on BS. I think it is still a bit early to judge how he'll do but I've always felt that Robinho was a level above Diego. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see whos right soon enough.

Guys, again: DO NOT POST THE ENTIRE ARTICLE! This is not me being anal, it's me keeping thisng above board. Just provide a link and maybe a one or two line synopsis and let people go to the story themselves. This ensures that the author and source get proper credit.
royalstilton, if you provide me a link to the second article, I'll post it.

Sorry, man, it's just BigSoccer policy. I don't make the rules, I just (sometimes) enforce them.
No big deal, really, all has been rectified.

Some message boards owners don't like being sued for copyright infringement. Who do you think is more important?

The link is key and, yes, jpatel you did put the link in there.
What the real issue is that BS does not have permission to reprint anything from another site. The chances of someone from that source coming in here, seeing it, and actually making a fuss about it is small, but it's just not a chance Huss wants to take.
Anyway, everybody is straight on it now, so problem solved.
That was a good read, btw, jpatel. Thanks for bringing the story in here.

I've reasd this article before...it was actually published on some observer suppliment (same paper).
I don't think any of you know how GOOD Robinho is. Phisy claims that he wouldn't get into our side. I couldn't disagree anymore. Robinho has got more talent than Ronaldo and Rooney combined. Maybe a few years ago he couldn't get into Arsenal but now...he could easily get into any top side in Europe including Arsenal. I'll tell you why. Robinho has put on alot of weight and now has, imo, enough physical strength to slug it out in the EPL. I watch him play in Brazil (telly) and he stands out like a sore thumb....he is on a completely different level to the 21 players on the pitch. He reminds me of watching Joaquin (who would be an excellent transfer who'd sort out our rioght sided problem) play Real Betis. If AW were to sign Robinho...theere would be no talk of Christiano Ronaldo...period! Robinho is touted as the next Pele and he isn't far off from I've seen.

Well I agree and disagree with your post...sorry it is complicated by exactly your point above.
Robinho does stand out and is certainly a good player. However, does he stick out like Tevez? Well, not really. Ok so maybe he is not really the next Pele. The relative decline in Brazil's league (I know it is still attractive but the defense is suspect for many of the teams) makes it a bit more difficult to judge exactly what level Robinho is at and where he can develop towards. Plus I think the adaptation to EPL's game would be more difficult for him than some other styles of players. I look at Adriano and I see a complete forward well on his way to greatness. I look at Robinho and he still seems an extremely talented young man with good, if uncertain, potential.

they said they were looking for a full fee of 40 mil or something i dont see arsenal taking that kind of risk, im not sure how many pounds that would be but he is still unproven in europe and is to light to make it in the premiership.
