Lampard thinks Drogba can be Henry for Chelsea. Obviously that was the goal of the club when they spent the big dough on this guy.
I thought this article was encouraging and good to see Chelsea's best player has this much faith and hope for the new striker.

See, in order to respond to posts, you have to read them first. No one said Drogba is as good as Henry, but Lampard did say that Drogba can be our primary striker the way Henry is for Arsenal.

I think the point Lampard and Chelsea fans are trying to make is that Drogba has exceptional goal scoring ability. He is not similiar to Henry. He is bigger and plays more physical, Henry is quick and sneaky but lethal.
The point is that Drogba has shown a great ability to score for his NT and his past club Marseille. Against PSG he showed Chelsea his scoring form. If he can play to his potential he can, like Henry, be a guy that we can depend on for a goal almost every match. A guy, like Henry, that other teams have to pay so close attention to in there defense that it opens up alot goals for all the other players.

Now he obviously has alot to prove before accomplishing this, but seeing someone like Lampard stepping up and saying this gives me confidence.

Drogba is very very good but i think Henry is still better.

Drogba will light up this league once he's settled. He has everything that makes an EPL striker, and nothing since the likes of Shearer pre knee injury that I've seen. Henry is the best in the world but Drogba was made to play in this league with his physical attributes. If only Jose would but out Robben and duff and then also let both fullback bomb on , I truly believe Drogba would end up top of the goal league each and every season.
This current compact formation won't help him though.

I think Drogba will be better than Henry in 1 or 2 years ! When there's a good and solid defence in front of Henry, he doesn't know goal ! ( see Euro 2004 ) And Drogba have show in OM that, even if the others players are not exceptionals, il can win a match all alone :p
