Typical Bose snoozefest...maybe a bean counter out there will read this and be "disturbed", but all I got was that 1) it costs money to field a good team, 2) our merchandising efforts aren't very good, and 3) some of our directors are grossly overpaid.

The only thing missing from this story to make it a true Bose piece are the words "I" or "me" featured prominently throughout - he does love to interject himself into his stories.

No doubt David Dein will be looking to unload his shares. It certainly has been a crap investment for him ;)

that report is old news.
arsenal are getting mouthy about finances with the new stadium. (it's a good thing, because they are extremely conservative with what they say)

1. per-match revenues will be more than man utd due to luxury boxes, more boxes than old trafford and more $$$ from each box due to paying london prices

2. more people at matches will increase revenue in the club shop. hopefully the new club shop will not run like the current shop, i.e. order everything at the counter and they find it in the back. a little outdated but necessary because of the size available.

3. expected revenue from selling land from the cpo's AND Highbury is #375m, that from a government document dated in december of 2003. see gooner #142(?) the one w/ arsene in a construction hat w/ ranieri and ferguson set in concrete.

4. naming rights for the stadium are expected to be #75m for a 15 year contract.

5. #30m fron granada/itv due in march of 2005 for a 5% share f the club completing the 9.9% stake

6 #55m from nike the day we move into the new stadium. a letter of credit for the same amt was the icing on the financing deal.

so...we'll have 2 more titles by then, and all the bandwagoners will be at AG.

We could see this turn out like Real Madrid and Barcelona. They both built the best stadiums to outbid the other guys. I think its a toss up on which is better, although many prefer the Mestalla.

Great point about the luxury boxes. Poor United. Pretty soon they won't have a pot to piss in. (southern saying)

Word has it that Bose, in addition to being a bore, is also a Sp*rs fan. For what it's worth.

since the new stadium deal went through, thought I'd bump this up.

did some quick math: by 2012 (6years after we move into the new stadium)
arsenal will have picked up:

#88 million from Emirates for stadium sponsorship
#55 million in a one time payment from NIke as kit sponsor (there may be more coming, but I'm sure of this figure)
#30 million from Granada/ITV
#360 million from the sale of the cpo's and highbury (estimated, but probably a conservative on considering the source) of which I believe we've received 45million)

that equals #533 million to build a #375million FIXED COST stadium/transit improvements/new waste station. thats a cool #158 million that can go to other sources.

these figures do not include the expected revenue increase of 1.5 million from match days.

pretty nice fugures to look at. almost as good as phishy's avatars.
