It looks like the new GM, Steve Pastorino, will be an ally to the supporter's group. In the live chat today, he was asked what the team's position toward the supporter's group will be and if they will be encouraged. His response:
"ABSOLUTELY. The game belongs to the fans. We are just caretakers. Chris and I already debate whether Section 8 or Screaming Eagles is better -- but you've great fans in NY as well. Here's to the Loyalists!"

Done. That was pretty cool to see him mention our supporters group.

Wow!
If the GM is mentioning us by name maybe we better keep the LOYALISTS name. :)

The supporter's group definitely has a place... but once the club is named then there might even be a better group name.
Regarding Pastorino, he seemed sharp - I liked him. Let's see if he delivers on his promises to get some stuff happening fast and gets some announcements out: team name and head coach.

You guys have a solid GM. He's from good stock and worked closely with our GM, Peter Wilt. Make sure you guys have a close working relationship with him in regards to flags, tifo, signs, etc. A good supporters section with all the tifo and whistles will make for a good atmoshpere at the games for the players and the casual fans. Pastorino knows the value of supporters groups (i.e. Section 8).
Good luck guys, hope you have as much fun as we do in Section 8!
Cheers.

Ah, it is good to see that regular contact with people gets them to notice that we are around. By the way, I recieved a call today asking me to come in and meet with a few people in the office to finalize seating for the supporters.

Dysko, any news on what exactly $30 for reserving a season ticket does?
I've seen some questions about here and there on BS.
Oh and I am going to put the Pastorino quote on the supporters website. :)

Dysko, being in the mass media market, you must have at least thought about applying for some sort of job with the new team. Marketing? PR? Have you considered it? You certainly have some connections already...

My understanding is that the $30 binds you to buying season tickets. It is sort of a down payment.
