Hey ya'll, it's your boy Roscoe. I have to go tell it on the mountain about the great coverage Fox Sports World goes to to show EPL and to get highlights. The Fox Sports World report team does a great job with letting the highlights be the main star (anit-Sportscenter). They really care about soccer and even show love to rugby, cricket, and what have you. Bobby McMahon is excellent on his info and views on soccer...Max and Christian are pretty decent. But if FSW was not around here in America, outside of this forum I would be in a heap of trouble. Thanks to DirecTV for trying to get new programs in the lineup and keeping my costs down compared to cable which will never ever have a co-ax cross my property line again. I hear espn is adding another channel called espnu for college sports....Could the next one be a world/soccer channel??? What are your guys views on FSW, DirecTV, ESPN, Cable coverage??? Thank ya now!! Roscoe

Cheers to this. It is nice to read some positive things about FSW. If you go to the FSW board, it seems that no one is happy or appreciative of the coverage FSW gives the EPL and soccer in general. I am in the same boat when I wonder what I would do without this channel. It is first class and #1 in my book. I do not mind ESPN, but I just cannot stand Stuart Scott. That is a whole different thread on him alone that I will not get into.

Agreed also....About five years ago all we would of had to go on was the paper or the internet to follow on what happened in soccer. People should be happy as hell that we even get to watch any soccer here. On FSW even SkySports can't get half of the game highlights across Europe and I know FSW has to go thru legal hoops and hurdles just to get it to us tape delay much less live...They also have French, German, Brazilian, and Argentine games to show too. Although I wish it just had Spanish and English, I can understand the concern of other fans who like other team and countries also. They are still in the infancy and I think people should give them a chance b/c they took a BIG one in launching this station considering all the harsh abuse soccer gets in the U.S....But that is just my opinion :D . Thank ya now!! Roscoe

They had a guy doing the Racing-River game that made me laugh. He was actually funny...not trying to be funning like Bretos. He sang along with the crowd, made fun of both teams when the play dragged, and cheered like a fan when great plays and goals occured. It reminded me of a strange combination of Fanzone and regular match coverage.

don't get me wrong, the tv goes to fsw first thing. max bretos could do without screaming any time a ball enters the final third of the pitch, it is really hard to watch a match he is announcing. I'm also amazed that SAF can fly over to Vancouver on a monday night to do his ventriloquism act w/ bobby mcmahon, just who's the dummy there? And the next time I rush home after work to watch an 11:00pm arsenal replay, it had better be on, I already see the total gym infomercial twice a week.

that was a GREAT broadcast!!! and yes, the dude was hilarious. I don't understand why everyone drools over the English broadcasts so much. the flair of some of the guys who broadcast for the other leagues is wonderful, and the guys seem to have so much more personality. it's much better than listening to the multitude of catch phrases and buzz words that the english announcers use over and over again.

That is a good point Max does sound like them but at the same time I personally think that we haven't really had a chance to get and American-style soccer announcer going so we just mimic what is closest to us hence English. I don't think that American football announcers would work well in Europe (imagine if John Madden did play by play for an Arsenal-Chelsea match) I remember watching NFL Europe and they had a British guy doing play by play...seemed different b/c he was using our catch phrases he did a good job otherwise. I think someone should be able to find that niche soon. But again I could be wrong is there a pretty good american born and raised announcer out there that I may not know or forgot about? Any help would be appreciated. Thank ya now!! Roscoe

Hmmm..what would I do without FSW??!! Watch ESPN's coverage of La Liga, and Serie A....and follow Arsenal online... So it's good to have FSW to catch the EPL, not that I mind watching the football ESPN carries, cause I like to watch Barcelona, and Juventus... :D

Usually, I'd concur but Arsenal were the ONLY game that they didn't have highlights of in their nightly FSW coverage.

FSW hasn't been the same for me since they got rid of the EPL Review Show with Lionel Bienvenu :-) Pathetic, I know, but I thought that show was great and often really funny. 2hours is also a much better amount of time to spend on highlights for 10 EPL games. For example, in the TWI highlight show from last week, they omitted the foul by Volz on Henry in the box. If I had not seen the game, I would have missed that significant incident completely.

to borrrow a line from Mr Scott

BOOYAH!!! to Fox Sports World. I try to never miss an EPL game and now even find myself watching the replays during the week from start to finish. I am quite happy with the coverage. My only complaint is that they dont show Everton nearly enough

Between Fox Sports World and MLS Direct Kick on Comcast Cable in Philly, I get a quality soccer game every night just about

FSW is much better this season than last.
On Saturdays, they have been showing 2 live matches,
and then one delay match later in the day.

And the best part is they are showing alot more Arsenal matches.

Can't wait until Saturday morning to catch the boys live on FSW!!

I'm just happy that they are showing the EPL matches and some England's game as well. They also keep things to schedule unlike ESPN Despotes who you set the Tivo for and you never get a full game because the times are always off.

Announcers could use some work, but still I'm really happy to have FSW.

You can always improve, but I must say FSW is the best thing in my TV life.

To awnser the question "what would I do without Fox Sports World?"

Well I do not have cable or sattelite, so I tell you what I do. I go to my friends house a 4 am to watch some game he could care less about, I go to the Pub, I knock on random neighbours doors to see if they have FSW, and if they would mind me coming in to watch the game. :D (ok so I never have done that last one, but I have been close)

FSW delivers a great product. There'll always be discussion about what could be improved, but it's really hard to complain too loudly, especially with the shift towards more English football this season. The multiple live matches on saturday are really nice. Now if only it'd be a triple header by getting another English match in place of those pesky German matches! :)
