Ok we have 2 big games today where the French teams actually have a good chance of gaining some points unlike PSG. We have Monaco at Liverpool and Manchester Utd. at Lyon. Here are the 18 who will be going for Lyon:

Coupet, Puydebois - Réveillère, Cacapa, Cries, Abidal, Berthod, Diatta, Juninho, Essien, Clement, Ben Arfa, Malouda, Frau, Govou, Wiltord, Nilmar, Bergougnoux.

Lots of offensive firepower available with Juninho. Ben Arfa, Frau, Govou, Wiltord and Nilmar. We'll see what lineup Le Guen decides to put out. I firmly believe Lyon will score some goals in this one especially since its at home and with MU's defensive problems they currently have. Lyon have the edge in goal with Coupet over Tim Howard. Guys like Cries, Abidal and Diatta all just got there so it will take some time for them to play well together so that might be worrysome. I have a feeling they might leak some goals in this one. I predict a 3-2 victory for OL. Lyon at home with their great attack will score some goals against a shaky MU defense and Howard in goal doesnt scare me at all.

Now Monaco at Liverpool is an interesting matchup. Monaco will be missing some great offensive players in Saviola, Chevanton, Plasil and Nonda which may force them to play more defensive. Here is the Monegasque group:
Roma, Audard, Biancarelli - Evra, Modesto, Lescure, Maicon, Squillaci, J.Rodriguez, Givet - D.Perez, Zikos, Juan, P.Farnerud, El Fakiri - Gr.Lacombe, Kallon, Adebayor, So.Camara

This could be their logical lineup:

--------------------------------Roma

--------------Squillaci-------Rodriguez--------Givet
Maicon-----------------------------------------------------Evra

------------------------------Zikos
--------------Pérez---------------------Farnerud

--------------------Kallon----------Adebayor

A 5-3-2 seems to make the most sense here due to the lack of attackers available. Squillaci, Givet and Evra in the back is so solid all those guys are French internationals. Rodriguez was also there last year only Maicon is new. That experience will help them greatly. I don't see them making a lot of mistakes. I predict a 1-1 score.

Man, those are great matchups ... Wish I could see them on tv ...

I can't wait to see what Lyon is gonna do. Nilmar and Ben Harfa, could be yummy. Let's hope so.

Lyon were very unlucky not to have won. They nearly missed quite a few chances. A 2-2 draw is good if you came back from 2 down to tie but its not so good if you draw after blowing a 2 goal lead. Monaco were completely dominated and outplayed. So in summary, PSG and Monaco were completely outclassed and Lyon got a disapointing draw after being up 2-0. Not really a great weak for the French teams but all 3 were playing argueably. the top teams in the group. Maybe Deportivo La Coruna is better than Liverpool I dont know. Monaco should do better when guys like Saviola, Nonda, Chevanton, Bernardi and Plasil are all there. Lyon need to win their next game but Fenerbahce away will be tough. PSG cant still finish 2nd in group or they can go into the UEFA Cup.

Ok so we got 2 big matches on Tuesday. Deportivo La Coruna at Monaco and Lyon at Sparta Praha. French teams need some big points here. For Monaco Chevanton and Bernardi still arent ready to play however Nonda and Plasil will be on the bench and ready to play if needed. Kallon is doubtfull due to a right calf contusion. Match time decision as weather he will play. So as you can see Monaco still isnt at 100% strength yet.
Deportivo wants its revenge from last years 8-3 loss in Stade Louis II. They currrently have the worst defense in La Liga with 11 goals conceeded in 5 games. They are 14th in the league table. I think Monaco will capatilize on Depor's current poor form and win this one 2-1 at home.
Lyon must gain a result in the Czech Republic to have hope of advancing to the next round. Bad news for Lyon is Sparta has this guy called Karel Poborsky one of thir best players returning after 3 weeks out. Lyon will miss Abidal who's out for a month. Big loss there. Juninho picked up a calf injury vs Monaco and recieved treatment after the match. I'm sure he'll try and give it a go as best he can. Lyon will come out and try to take the 3 points since they blew them against Manchester. Still with no Abidal and Elber and Juninho's calf problem I am predicting a 1-1 result.

PSG playing today without Rothen(injured) and Yepes(suspended) in Russia. Should be difficult to gain a result.

As much as I dislike them, kudos to l'OL. Coming back on the road in the CL is hard.

Both teams will qualify from their groups unlike PSG.

I think I jinxed PSG by not following the game and giving live updated scores.

If you don't know, they lost 0-2. From what I read, they did not play bad at all.
