here is a link to an article regarding the progress of the SSS in Salt Lake. Looks like Checketts is a serious man with a deep pocket and many friends...seems like he gets what he wants in SLC all the time.. lol

the salt lake tribune is also doing a very good job at supporting MLS in SLC. Thanks and good job!

wow this is good news A city that wants to help out its team... The last thing MLS needs is another stadium with Grid Iron lines all over the field...
SLC is already more productive than say the NJ Metroscrubs and their so called stadium...i hope this news becomes a reality soon...sooner is better than later..

wow that is awesome. looks like they are serious on setting a location by next year and getting work done on a SSS. that would be sweet to see a stadium done by the 05-06 season. plus its relatively close to my house and really close to where i work in the summer when im home from college. man i cant wait till next summer and the year after.

Taking frequent I-70 road trips out to Utah to see Real Salt Wannabes get crapped on by the FIRST PLACE COLORADO RAPIDS in their OWN facility will be fun :D

Not to nitpick with you...but MLS seasons do not overlap years...it's either the 2005 season, or the 2006 season. Seeing as the 2005 season starts in 5 months, it's not gonna be ready by then, unless you want an erector set stadium like in Columbus. :)

I think he meant, by either the 05, or the 06 season. Just writing 05/06 season is kinda like a shortcut.

Nope, they're full of crap. It's all a lot of positive pep talk nonsense to get people talking again since absolutely ZERO has happened in the last month with this team.
Calexico needs food. . .badly.
(or expansion info, at least - I'm a junky for the stuff)

The bad news (IMHO) is, the estimated costs of this proposed stadium... I'm no rocket scientist but when I saw they estimate $20 million to build/complete ~25,000 seat stadium, how nice can it be?

If I remember correctly the BYU baseball and softball stadia cost about $20 million, and while a nice baseball stadium for college sports in the mountains it isn't grand. I think that was Checketts contributions mentioned by him (If CSTV hasn't taken all his investment $$ away).

i meant by the end of the 05 or possibly be finished by the 06 season.
guess thats why im not an english major, im a bio major who could care less about making things gramatically correct or sound right.

I think it's funny that we're getting taunted because of a stadium that hasn't even been anounced yet. Someone hears some dollar figure and the taunting starts. Must be a slow news month.
