I watched the San Jose/LA game on Saturday night which was announced by Alan Hopkins and Christian Miles and I must say that I was thoroughly entertained. Hopkins has a great announcing voice (sounds like a deeper Max Bretos) and he really knows his stuff, without flaunting it like Bretos. Also, both are funny and add alot to the game. I'd love to see this combo doing Nats games for FSW.

I thought Miles & Hopkins did a good job too.
It was a pleasant change from Bretos, who needs to learn to tone down his energy at times.

Agreed. They did a very nice job, and I'd love to hear the tandem again in the future.
But then, I'm apparently not the best critic when it comes to announcing duos. I also like Bretos/Hopkins (even if it gets a little tough to separate their voices on occasion), and find Stone/Wynalda inoffensive at worst (and generally, I think they do an okay job, pregnancy updates aside). Hell, I liked Jack Edwards...

Hopkins, IMO, has gotten so much better - he's improved more than any of the other announcers. I watched as well and enjoyed the coverage. But, like Scrambles, I may not be the best to listen to since I like Wynalda, Jack wasn't the worst, Ty was good at what doing what was expected of him during his time, etc...

I'm a big Bretos fan, but I also think Hopkins is a fantastic announcer. I've found that whenever I hear a game that they're both announcing on (which is rare, but I think it's happened) I can't tell them apart.
