I noticed a clever Barra photographer got some pictures at Satuday's game of CSC's new security force. Good work! I can't say I'll miss our old friends, though. ;)
More views of the new thorn in our side on the Barra site. I wonder if they still work with beer spilled on them.

Ha!
I don't believe he is fat or irresponsible enough to work for CSC.
Perhaps we could have avoided the scary time we had with one particular a$$hole this weekend when he tried to forcefully break up the drum circle.
I'll start another thread on that later (or someone else can...)
It was pretty ugly though.

What the hell? I missed that cause I was watching my niece and Oscars little girl run around. Glad we went the other way during that. Is a call to Steve Zack in order?

I just typed up a whole g'damn thread on it and accidently deleted it ...
Basically this one very large blue shirt guard #0104 decided to clear the drum circle. When he met with resistance he backed out and proceeded to put on black leather fighting gloves (LITERALLY). He also called in back up. Annoyingly he then sat there and actually attempted to taunt people into fights and threatened people. it was very ugly and for a time very scary until cooler heads prevailed.
--As of now I believe Oscar has it under control. Aside from the one guard (Blue shirt #0104) the majority of other CSC people did their job. There was a white shirted guy that later came down and was at least fair and even handed. Afterwards Oscar and I talked to Fred Mathes (sp?) and he was very helpful as well.
I think we should have people post here as to what they saw as there is still some confusion on specifics. I am not sure exactly what good Zack can do as Fred mentioned it is the same old story from CSC.
For the record this isnt the first time we have had trouble with this guard...
I snapped THIS picture of him on 8/11 when we played the Rapids:
http://www.barra-brava.com/images/gallery/DSCN6797.jpg
And these of him last Sat. night on 9/11:

http://www.barra-brava.com/images/gallery/DSCN7118.jpg
(sorry about the nipple shots... It is just that that is as close as the guy tends to get in our face and I am saving the other pictures for the lawsuit when he eventually hurts someone... )
We DO want guard 0104 fired or at the very least never assigned to our area again.
Oscar said he will go talk to DC United on Monday about the incident some more.

Ha! :D
Actually I'm glad to see people aren't all over this thread. The occasional Barra vs CSC has become so tired and predictable i dont even see where it is news anymore. More importantly we can talk it over lightly here and not have some a$$hat from the outside lecturing us on something they didnt even see or understand.
That being said that guard was a 1st class bastard and the team needs to do something about that incident.

we were just doing the normal halftime drum circle when that big dude decided to start pushing people around to break up the event...apparently there wasnt enough room for people to walk by our usual halftime activity...total bunch of crap

i saw some young girl crying in the tunnel w/CSC people... I later heard she was not crying because of the drum circle but was instead upset over being accidently hit with a beer after a goal.
Did anyone else catch that part? Its really the only thing I didnt see during the episode.

I think this is the same jerk who, at the end of the game, harangued us to leave the stadium faster than we were and actually followed us up the damn stairs as we walked out of the Nest. Giant f-ing prick.
He followed us all the way up the stairs, and just as we were about to go out onto the concourse, this guy put his hand on my best friend's back to guide/push him into the tunnel. For those of you who haven't met him, my friend is a 6' 2" former boxer who HATES "security" and cops putting their hands on him, and he got so mad that I thought he was going to spin around and sock the guy into next week.
BTW, Owen, is Brad getting arrested in that pic or something? :D

This was the same guy who got in a young woman's face about her using a camcorder in the Nest. Now I'm sure there's a rule against taping in the stadium, but he was needlessly confrontational, "What are you doing with that?" "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW?" A simple request would have been sufficient.

The rule is against using professional equipment to tape the game. If mr Fire Hazard has trouble reading the rules he could have asked one of us to read it for him and we'd be glad to help :D

I was one of several that he was trying to fight with during halftime. One of my buddies bumped into him, 100% accidental and he went ahead and shoved him in the back. When I told him to relax he shoved me, which is when someone else (not sure who, but thanks whoever it was) jumped in and held me back.
Not trying to justify my getting pissed when he shoved me, I was probably wrong in my reaction, but last time I checked a security guard is supposed to be there to prevent fights, not to start them. Plus, someone needs to remind these guys that they are in fact simply security guards. Meaning the rules regarding their use of force and ability to detain someone are a lot more strict than those for a police officer. I wish I had some video of him pushing people because they accidently bumped into him, I do believe the term used for that is assault.

Yeah thats true but even after a broken leg I had trouble "proving" that against them. :o
Last Saturday's game was truly amazing in that I was able to get along with at least a half a dozen security guards as we defused the situation yet this one giant bastard somehow managed to taunt people and continue his abuse even as higher ups arrived.
He was a real first class mother********er even by CSC standards.
IF he ever shows up in the Barra again something will give.
I am not threatening anything violent but we could very easily all walk out.
(In my case preferrably to get a loaded gun...)
(Only slightly kidding there :D)

Actually when I saw the pic I thought he was getting freaky on the guy from behind... But then I remembered how ugly that prick guard was and well, even after half a keg of beer Brad has better taste :D

I just got off the phone with Oscar and he's about fed up. He's ready to say F it and quit. This is the same asswipe that threw Oscar down a few seasons back. If Kevin Payne doesn't return Oscars call I don't know what is going to happen. All this because some $7 an hour assclown is more impotrtant to DC United than some of their best fans.

That should be pretty obvious. DC United doesn't seem to do much to ensure that CSC is doing what it's supposed to be doing. It's a damn shame. I also realized this weekend that CSC also has the contract for Fed-Ex Field, but the security guards all seemed quite happy there. I'm wondering if they get paid more to work at Fed-Ex than at RFK. Maybe we have CSC's cream de la CRAP!

I witnessed this. Big Blue was standing in the middle of the Drum Circle Mosh, and surprise-surprise ! - unintentionally gets bumped by a reveler (face-painted)- the CSC prick totally overreacts by pushing said reveler HARD in the back and then steps up like he wants to brawl. I did my best to cool things down, trying to keep some space between him and the rightfully angry fellow BBers, but this CSC guy was saying shite like "you going to get your ass kicked", etc... EXTREMELY belligerent. I, too was proud of the response of the fans and even the other CSC in the face of this tinpot tyrant who just wanted to bust some heads. I believe he even invited some of us to meet after the game.
I am glad to hear that the crying girl was not related to the drum circle, because i saw her too, and didn't want to believe that one of our brothers had anything to do with her sadness...
I hope Oscar will reconsider, knowing that the community he helped created in so much stronger than this $hitstormtrooper...

It should never come to this.
DC United needs to lay down on this CSC jerk for once.
I know Fred knows whats up. Whether or not they take us seriously I do not know. But they should. We reacted properly and didnt take this guys bait.
I know the team is tired of CSC as well but we are the ones that are threatened by them.
--What exactly did we do wrong this time? There were no firecrackers. There were no rules being broken. The situation was entirely of CSC's making and yet Oscar is being ignored?

If Oscar does get ignored I think that I'll personally go in early this saturday to see if Mr.Asshat is working our section. If he is, I'll request to speak with whatever supervisor I can find and lay it all out. It's clear we're not the problem here. I would think they'd want to difuse any situation before it gets out of hand and someone gets hurt.
