Just a FYI.

I live in South Riding (50 west from Chantilly/28) and a sports memorabilia shop opened a few weeks ago in the Food Lion shopping center. I looked in when I first saw it, but it all looked to be Nascar and Baseball stuff. Tonight there was a big (3'x2') DCU board in the front window and looked like some other stuff towards the back of the shop (they were closed).

If they are open tomorrow i'll walk in and see what they have. I'll post the results back to this thread if anyone is interested.

Nope, sorry. Ended up spending all day fighting with a tree root ball that doesn't want to come up. I'm going to swing by on the way home this evening and will post.

Tie one end of a rope to the tree and the other end to your car.

Drive away.

Where exactly is it? I don't seem to recall seeing a FoodLion near yuppieville (SouthRiding) in my many travels past there. That used to be a great place, lots of fun roads to drive (Elk Lick used to be a nice windy road) and nice old redneck houses and chickens running around - and then one day they built a town hall and 15 sets of townhouses, made themselves a "town". Now it's gone completely nuts out there with big houses jammed as close as possible to each other. It's a ritzier Ashburn.

I'll be driving past there on the 21st, so I hope they have some cool stuff (and are open relatively late). Thanx for the heads-up.

Yeah I tried that. I didn't lose the bumper (3000lb hitch), but the cabling broke (quite amazing that it shot back underneath and didn't blow out my rear window like I expected).

I got by there, teach me for getting my hopes up. They had a couple of small flags on wooden sticks, bumper sticker, magnet, key chain, reusable (static?) sticker, and license plate brackets. Didn't see anything you can't get at RFK.

If you remember the giant empty lot in front of the Town Hall, it's not so empty anymore (for couple of years now). Elk Lick (been rearranged past the bridge :() runs right behind the Food Lion shopping center.

They are open till 9 during the week, 8 on Sat, and 12 - 6 on Sun. I think (except Sunday) they open at 10, but don't remember for sure.

Hi folks. A friend pointed me to this forum as he saw you were talking about my new store in South Riding. We are working to bring in DC United gear by opening new accounts in the soccer world. We have a few items, but plan on having an entire DC United section over the course of the coming months. Feel free to give us some ideas as to what you would like to see in our store and hopefully we can get you what you want......our number in South Riding is 703.327.0501 and our web address is www.fanschoicesports.com ........tks and take care.....

Cool. Nice site. Some DCU stuff, and some Earnhardt/Jr. stuff - that's all you really need in my opinion :)

As far as DCU stuff goes - things people are always looking for and can be hard to find: jackets, sweatshirts, jerseys, balls. I would think stuffed things would sell well there.

A t-shirt with the logo on the front and "Metros suck" on the back would be nice, but DCU would have to license it first :)

I look forward to stopping by Tuesday evening, assuming I remember to turn in at SR, I usually fly by as fast as possiblle yelling at the idiots who who slow down way too early to turn left there :)

A nice site indeed! As a fellow NASCAR fan and D.C. United fan, I look forward to stopping by and taking a look around. If you do end up carrying any D.C. United clothing (sweats, jersey's, etc..) and any Rusty Wallace clothing/diecast, I will be buying! Thanks and look to stop by soon!

please - something other than Freddy Adu shirts and jerseys - I got one but I don't need a dozen more - I'd much prefer to see more stuff of Olsen, Dema, Moreno, Esky, Nelsen, etc - Maybe offer a Jersey (or T-shirt) customizing service?

I agree! I mean, I like Freddy, but there ARE other players on the team besides Mr. Adu. I would really like to see polo shirts, warm ups and maybe even posters if there are any? Oh yea, how about kids DCU clothing as well!

ThomHow bout some F1 and Champcar diecasts?
How bout some decals of Calvin dressed in Metrostars gear pissing on a DC United jersey? You can also sell the opposite for the locals down there. Good for both of us. :)

How about a lifesize replica of the MetroScum trophy cabinet?

Piss off troll......I am not trolling. I am being serious. You obviously left out the part where I said the same thing but FOR DC fans should be made available. And I do think some shirts for DC fans that point to an empty Metro trophy cabinet would be cool for you lot.

Anything to help build the rivalry and the hate I am for. But to accuse me of trolling is silly.

Oh yea, how about kids DCU clothing as well!Amen...too much Freddy..how about a number 9 jersey with MORENO on the back. That's for old time's sake. I'd buy two. One extra large for me and one small for my 21 year old daughter who has been a United nut since the beginning and thinks he is a great player and good looking to boot. Etcheverry shirts would do well also.

'Course, I'm not too enthralled by going to their web site and seeing Cowboy's gear featured. I thought I was upset when South Riding's whining got the new high school that we needed in the NorthWest part of the county...if this means that they're a bunch of Cowboy fans on top of that, I'm really pissed:D
