Seems like Big East knows someone/is somehow involved in the squad.

Is there an international date line or two between here and Italy?

Uruguay have beaten Ireland 3-0, so we'll be playing Uruguay for the championship. Here's a recap of the Ireland-Uruguay match:

Memo 1, Gaven 1, (Ashe) Excellent! Thanks for the info BigEast!
Memo--yet again--scores and Eddie Gaven getting into the act. I'm assuming that means that Cory Ashe had an assist on Gaven's goal, but that Memo's wasn't assisted? Was Memo's a PK? If so, who drew the penalty?
Thanks again!

How do you know the results from a match played two days AFTER your posting date?
Just curious.

BigEast made a typo on the date. The USA-Yugoslavia match was played on 9/15.
I'd sure like to see line-ups for all of these matches.
The line-up vs. Yugoslavia is up on ussoccer.com, but not the others as far as I can tell.
One think I noticed was that Ashe did not assist on either goal, as someone had speculated. Jacob Peterson assisted Gaven's and Gaven assisted Memo's.
One site I checked listed the final matches for 9/16, another listed them for 9/17. At least one didn't seem to indicate that there would be any more matches, which seems weird (and probably wrong).
Something tells me BigEast will chime in with the score of the final whenever it is played. (Or maybe even before it is played ;))

The Final is today (Monday). More info should be on the USSF site very soon, if someone can check and post.

Title
Uruguay the Convincing Champion!
Header
The Uruguay U-17 Team left with the International Friendly Tournament Title that recently took place in Italy, after overcoming the other finalist United States by a score of 2-0. The winning goals were converted in the first half by Juan Albin and Ivan de la Sierra.
This is a notable accomplishment for the Uruguay U-17 squed that is currently preparing for the South American championship to take place next year in Venezuela
Directed by "Polilla" Da Silva, they won 2-0 in the tournament final against the United States through the goals of Juan Albin and Ivan de la Sierra in the first half, a game played in the city of Gaeta's stadium.
Uruguay finished a great tournament once they consecrated it as champions in convincing form. It is noteworthy to remember that in the tournament's first phase Uruguay beat the local Italian squad through penalties after equalizing the game 1-1 in regular time, then the Czech Republic (3-1), Ireland (3-0), and then won the final against the United States (2-0).
The Baby Blue Delegation will be arriving in our country the 18th, Wednesday, at 10:30 in the morning at the Internacional de Carrasco Airport.

I wonder what the problem is with getting match reports for all four games on ussoccer.com?
I'd sure like to see the line-ups and game summaries.

There was an interesting tidbit in the Uruguyan newspaper El Espectador. They claim the USA will host the tournament next year.

I'll send the USSF an email requesting the lineups for the games in a couple days. I doubt they will have any match reports though.
Uruguay scored an early goal in the final, so I guess we were trying to get the equalizer most of the game and then they scored the second goal.
