Bush way ahead in Missouri
The results show that of 686 likely voters in that state, George W. Bush leads with 55% of the vote to John Kerry's 41% of the vote. In a poll conducted in July prior to the political conventions, Bush and Kerry were tied at 48%.

Sen. John F. Kerry and the Democratic Party are limiting television advertising to 14 states as the fall campaign opens, curbing their ambitions for a broader playing field against President Bush. The shift reduces Missouri, Colorado, Arizona and four Southern states to second-tier status.
