I'm testing the boundries here but I wanted to get a general opinion from fellow Barra folks. First of all, I rent. My drier crapped out and my landlord is trying to get it replaced. She paid Best Buy to replace it.
I am going on the fourth visit by these fools. They show up.......for the 4th time and cry the same song that the room is too tight and the new dryer won't fit. They want (same dollar amount every time) $80.00 to remove some trim to make the new machine fit.
Am I getting ripped off??

Tell your landlord to fix this. Threaten to move. Plenty of other places would gladly have you as a tenant I'm sure.
Next time tell your landlord to purchase her appliances at Sears. I've had them install a washer, dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher and the installers have been more than helpful.
Good luck.

Ask your landlord if she paid for an install package to have the dryer installed...and why are you being charged for any part of any repairs?? if anything she needs to contact 1-800-best-buy....or worst buy in my book..

I am afraid Best Buy install/contractor people can be hit or miss... I have had some good ones (that put in my Direct TV) and some BAD ones ( a couple of redneck douche bags that wouldnt even bother to TRY to install a Direct TV DSL dish on my roof... The same roof the EARLIER Direct TV dish guys had placed my TV one on... )
Hope it works out for you Dave. $80 or not... You will still have a beer/keg waiting for you Saturday :D
