I just got the mail from the team. You can keep the current level if you re-new now. Otherwise, I guess we can continue to suck and maybe even have a crappier facility to play in at higher prices. I barely remember 1999...

I would feel better about it if the salary cap got raised.

Or the team hired a proper scouting staff...

I barely remember 1999...
I got the 99 season on DVD off of EBay :)

Anyways, Howz about the timing of their price increase letter? If they'd of mailed it out after the 6-2 whooping we put on the scum I'd have happily paid it. After the Chicago game I feel like I'm getting the Ned Beatty treatment. I'll still re-up though I'd like to see my team GIVE A SH!T

I'm not a big fan of renewing my season tickets when the current season isn't over. Call me old fashioned.

Seems especially cynical given that we don't even know whether our seats will be available (I'm referring to those of us sitting in center field). As I understand it, the team's pitch is: "re-up now to guarantee that your seat will available in April. Unless it's not."

Let's see, they want you to actually pay to see these clowns mail another season in, and you can't be sure where they will be playing. But if you don't act soon, it will cost you more. Anyone know what a "United sellout" of FEDEX is- my guess after this season is 8,000.

Hey it worked for him this year didn't it :p Personally, I'm waiting to see what pans out with baseball before I go ordering season tickets.

Well said! The quality of DCU games goes down and ticket prices go up? Gee... where in Washington has this happened before?

There should be some "Guarantee" on the tickets that offers a "money back if not satisfied" clause; I gather that most DCU fans are very much "Not Satisfied."

it will be a few dollars, and we will all pay because we are junkies...might as well just skip all the complaining. The only people that this might effect whether or not they actually buy tickets are the fairweather fans...and those people don't hangout on bigsoccer.

If the league is putting in reserve teams next year raising the salary cap..it will be money well spent. Progress costs money....MLS isn't exactly the most profitable business venture.

At Meet The Team Day, the amonut of season ticket holders who re-upped was pretty large. I'm just waiting to see what happens with the Barra. If baseball comes to DC and they rip 135 out (along with my heart  ) I want to see where they plan on sticking us.

I think it's a couple of bucks per ticket (if I recall correctly like another $36 for the year). The supporters clubs get a deal on their tix below the premium price elsewhere in the stadium so something to consider. Next year the SEs are planning to give members a bigger discount vs non members.

I dropped my full season tickets when DCU closed the upper deck. Man they were sweet, section 410 right on the midfield stripe. Couldn’t bare to pony up the $$$ for (IMHO) inferior lower bowl seats so I went in with three friends on a couple of full season tickets in section 210 – which I haven’t managed to sit in yet all year. Because of the way we divided up the tickets I have taken to buy the $15 tickets from the guys in lot 8. After being a loyal season ticket holder for the whole existence of DCU I’m seriously contemplating not renewing next year. Why should I when I can get at ticket for less than face value and sit pretty much anywhere I want to?

Now if they opened up section 410 again, I’d have to do some serious thinking.

And this just makes you a huge jackass. Yes - its not an ideal situation when you have to pay more but if you care to see professional soccer in this country then just pony up and give your money to the club and not some scalper.

Yeah - it sucks they closed the upper deck but just be lucky you can watch the game from anywhere in DC. I can't understand how anyone that gives a crap about the team can take that attitude given whats happening in SJ.

Yeah, this was my reaction to Big Roy's post as well. (Does he also buy DCU merchandise knockoffs from Thailand?) The bottom line here is the league needs our financial support.

Does anybody seriously think that DCU won't be in RFK next year?
I'd just about let them keep my $100 deposit if they move to FedEx field.
I really can't imgine myself going all the way out there just to get SCREWED on parking. At best I would parlay my season ticket into a big party for one game and be done with it.
Nevertheless, I think Anthony Williams will want to keep DCU in RFK and will find a way to make that happen.
Hell, I think he would give it to us for free just to stick a red hot poker in Maryland's butt. ;)

As for the ticket prices, themselves. As long as they're going up at a slower rate than my rent, I'm sure I'll pay it.
As a dude that will pay $5 for one Miller Lite (or whatever swill they're peddling out there), I will pay $2 more for a ticket.
