What is the meaning of the ship on the Man U crest? Does it stand for the shipping industry in Manchester or when they were invaded by the Normans? I have yet to read anything regarding this but I just have to know. Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

The ship represents the city's trading base and the Manchester Ship Canal. The three lines are for three local rivers.

Interesting information. Thanks for that. You learn something new everyday. I would have never guessed any of that. Makes me wonder about other logos and crests and what they mean.

What's the history with the addition of the red devil? Was it an attempt to distance the team from the city of Manchester? Very interesting information. Learn something new every day.
The badge from the '60's looks like an adidas logo!
