Only 83? Newb.
Anyway, I use PopFile which works pretty well, but is a little more difficult to set up. You can get it at http://popfile.sourceforge.net
I've also heard good things about K9. http://keir.net/k9.html

yeah mate, with the old one it used bounce back the e-mails makeing it look like a dead account.it cut the spam mails down to like two or three a day,it was the job to be honest.
thanks for the links i'll give one of them a bash and see how i get on,by the way how many spams are you getting a day, since 83 only makes me a newb, lol :D

I get nearly 200. Of course, I'm having my old university account forwarded, and I've had that account for 10 years. That's where most of my spam comes - I should just close the thing.

I use spambayes (google it, also a freebie from sourceforge). I like the way it integrates with my Outlook 2000 and been working great ever since.
They say you need to "train" it for a bit till it works fine but in my case it worked lika champ from day 1.

If you're using outlook I strongly recommend you pay the pittance for Disruptor OL (http://disruptor.de). If nothing else either the enhanced filters or html->text feature make it worthwhile.
If not using Outlook then I suggest Spam Pal (loopback) (http://spampal.org)
