Centreback to form a partnership with Rio or, in the LB slotw with Wes and and Silvestre battling it out to partner Rio?
ould be nice if you stated your reason why you want him wherever also :)

At this point I would be happy if he were just on the damn field playing.

At this point given the absence of form from Silvestre, I'd want him at centreback. If O'shea or Silvestre can make the leap back to their full potential I'd say maybe he could then switch to the left, but for now thats where he is most needed.

How about just having Heinze show up for work once?

Sheasy is out for a fortnight with a slightly torn thigh muscle so I see him going into the center of defence. I predict RB-G. Nev CB's-Heinze and Silvestre with LB-Spector unless Brown in healthy.

This response is long term, not short term.
I chose CB because I think he will do us more good there than at LB... Rio was able to make our defence impregnable with someone as inconsistent and unstable as Silvestre, imagine what he could do with Heinze... also, Heinze is very good in the air, something Silvestre is not, which makes our defence better against the aerial ball. Also, because he is used to playing in a 3 man backline, as a CB and as a LB (also since he is Argentinian) his distribution is excellent and having him and Rio together would really aid our distribution... the less technical stuff like overlapping and crossing (which require just practice but not as much technique as short passing and the decision making is not as vital) to young guys like O'Shea and Spector. I see Silvestre as back up at both CB and LB.

Center back - Silvestre has suffered a terrible loss of form over the last 10-12 months so much so I don't want to see him anywhere near the team.

Centre Back - Silvestre to play LB and battle it out with O'Shea. If he can't beat O'Shea to the LB spot, he doesn't deserve an 11 place. Heinze CB with Rio.

His sterling form from the Euro has carried right on to his play for United.
Surely SAF is just playing him until another warm body shows up.

I would suspect Heinze plays CB until Rio Rioturns from his nightmare and hair salon appointments.
SAF says Heinze is his LB.
Spector must be the future CB along with Rio.
Where does that leave Oshea, Brown, Silvestre, and Fortune? All good covers.
They have tried valiantly to do the job across the back but we can see just how difficult it has been.
First thing is to get Rio back. Then we can redesign the back wall again.

Silvestre was don last year tho, until Rio forgot about the bottle. Glad this bloke has decided to turn up, and have a cup a tea, nice of him.

I'd like Heinze to play CB until Rio returns then move him to LB or keep him at CB depending on Silvestre's form. At CB we can benefit from his aerial strenght but at LB he can make runs up the wing, he is better going forward than Silvestre.

My prefered spot for Heinze would be at Centre-back with Rio, or wes in the meantime (whenever he returns from his injury) with silvestre out left, and gary on the right

We need a hardman, Silvestre aint that, so Heinze along side Rio seems pretty good
