Thought it wouldnt be a bad idea to see what classes will be driving everyone crazy for the next 3 months.

Feel free to discuss any psychological/behavioral abnormalities your professors or classmates have.

Dynamics, Physics 3, Thermodynamics, and MATLAB are what will surly drive me crazy this term.

The icing on the cake is my finals schedule. I recently discovered that I have 3 finals on one day, each final 15 minutes apart from the other. What's sad is that classes have barely started and im already pissing my pants over the finals week ill have to endure. :(

you poor souls. this'll be my last year and i'm going to take it easy. i have one tough class though. I don't even remember the class name... Rhetoric something something.

Basically, i have to pick out a speech and analyze it with various rhetoric theories blah blah blah. my bussiness classes will be fun though.

I only have 3 classes this term since my school has a terrible course selection. But I'm taking:
Integrated Marketing Communications Seminar
Quantitative Research
Ethics of Business Leadership

We go by trimesters so hopefully I'll be out of here at the end of the winter term since I only have 4 classes left after the term. Graduation! Whoo hoo!

I actually like the trimester (or quarter) system better. My terms are only about 2.5 months long. Beats having the same professor and classes for like 4 months solid.

You still a Huskie?

You bet ya.

The bad part of a trimester system is that summer breaks are way too long while winter is so short. 3~4 months for summer break and 16~17 days for winter break is ridiculous.

what school do you go to?

Johnson & Wales University. It's widely known as a culinary school, probably because Emiril Lagasse graduated from here and we have a show on the Food Network. But yeah, I hate when people ask me if I'm a chef.

I agree that the trimester has its downsides. My winter break is also a little over 2 weeks long while the rest of my friends who go by semesters have a month off, sometimes more. But they're in between semesters while I'm still in the middle of my winter term.

Still I prefer the tri. My Thanksgiving break is a whole week off instead of just 4 days since I'm in between terms. Also at my school, school is closed on Friday's and there are no Friday classes, except for when we have to make them up for holidays that happen beginning of the month. Since today is Labor Day, we have to make it up on Friday. But yeah, we basically have 3 day weekends every week so I guess that all adds up. I personally love the trimester system.

So how do you like UDub anyway? You a sophmore now? I saw the campus once when my friend who goes there showed me around a little. Seems like a nice campus with a lot to do around there. Plus Huskie stadium has a nice view of Mt. Ranier.

Wow you're lucky. Three day weekends without the feeling of guilt. I, too, had 3 day weekends but that was b/c I sacrificed my friday classes.

UW is a nice place its just that the city kinda sucks. There really isnt much to do in Seattle or maybe its just b/c I'm not 21 yet. Well, it sucks for me wherever I go because I'm basically on my own - no family, no house, no car ect. so first quarter of my freshmen year really sucked but now its getting better. Sophomore year - i guess its time to bring my grades back up.

I haven't been to Seattle since I've turned 21 so I'm sure I'll like it better the next time I do get a chance to go. It's a nice city and I'm sure there's stuff to do. But I'm from New York so I figure if one city has something, New York will have it too. Although we don't have Jack In The Box. I love Jack In The Box. I'm sure you can find stuff to do in Seattle even if you are underage; just make an effort. I hung out at Pike Place for a day and I thought it was a real neat place. Lots of girls around there too. Anyway good luck with school this year. I got class tomorrow but I gotta try and add on another class and fight those long lines at add/drop.

Bleh, it's been well over since 4 years I've taken a subject. MATLAB was interesting though - I still dunno how I passed the subject (called Process Integration and Dynamics or rather) without having a clue about writing a simple MATLAB program :)

Lucky you! I can't get by without Matlab cuz two of my subjects have nothing but Matlab. No lectures, no tutorials just 2 3 hour long sessions working with frickin Matlab. Some of the m-files we have to write are friggin 30 pages long.

Yea, Jack in the Box is some good stuff...but you cant have it every day. BLEH.

Life in Seattle would be better if I had a personal mode of transportation. No way in hell can I afford or car or insurance for that matter. I'm looking into motorcycles now but riding bikes in rainny weather?? doesnt sound too pleasing.

But I agree Seattle is a real nice city and rumors are that theres going to be a MLS club here soon. What more do I need?

I know what you mean. Seems like you need a car to really get around. In New York there's so many modes of public transportation that a car seems needless, especially in Manhattan. A bike would be cool and cheap, but yeah the weather would prevent you from going out. Although interestingly the two times I've been to Seattle it only rained once.

While an MLS club in Seattle might not happen quite yet, they do have the Seattle Sounders which is an A-League club. The quality of play probably isn't that of MLS but it seems like they have pretty good support. You should check out their site or these boards to get more info. Plus Seahawks Stadium is pretty damn nice. I went there for a US friendly.

yea went to a few sounders games and their support was descent 5000+. But the Seahawks stadium is too damn big and its astro turf.

well im still thinking of getting me a 2nd hand motorcycle. that way i can go to vancouver or portland during weekends. damn i kinda miss states.
