Liverpool has a fine team but it will be an upset if they win at Mestalla. Even a draw will be a slight upset. The easiest prediction for this game is 1-0 for Valencia.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I think most would agree that you are not giving Liverpool near enough respect.

But then if you say Liverpool will go into Valencia and win then you aren't giving Valencia near enough respect. You can't "win" that argument either way.
You say Liverpool is the better team, I say Valencia is. No big deal. It has nothing to do with respect.

I actually enjoy watching Liverpool, among the English sides they are my favorite ever since the days of Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley, and John Barnes.
I just know Valencia at home in European competition. This being the first match and with Valencia's tendency to really clamp down and allow few errors at home in Mestalla, it will not be a wide open game.

This game really could go either way and ultimately will come down to whoever makes the first mistake.
However, defensive lapses on the part of either team are few and far between.
That being said, though, I'd still have to go with Valencia, but mainly due to the fact that they're playing at home.

I checked the lineups and it will be a close match and a boring nil-nil :(

Liverpool are under no pressure to win. They are expected to draw or lose as they are playing the Spanish champions away.
I don't expect Liverpool to win, but they are much more unpredictable and dare I say, exciting this season.
2-2 is very likely.

why do you say they're more exciting? because of diouf? how is he playing? at the Bernabeu trophy he didn't show much...

Actually, I didn't say Liverpool would win, and I didn't say they were the better team. I think this match is pretty even on paper. I just wish there was a way I could watch it.

They nearly had 4 2-2 draws in a row, that's never happened to them before. Heskey scored the winner in the last minute of the last game 3-2.
They have gone in the lead 2-0 in almost every game I think, then let in 2 goals.
They are better going forward now, but have a worse defence. Baros scored 2 on his debut, and Diouf did too. He's getting better.
I'll be switching between this game and Arsenal mauling Dortmund.

I just saw the valencia boss hand the ref an envelope full of cash..
No ,only kidding.
Houlier made a tactical blunder with the team selection .owen and baros on the bench at the start aint too clever .

Sounds like the Reds had a nightmare. Hamann getting a red is about as bad as Dudek breaking an arm. Not to take anything away from Valencia, from what I gather they were very strong.

Presumably he was playing for the draw - and really, considering how few goals Valencia's offense produced last year, that would have seemed like a safe bet to anyone. However, it seems that somewhere along the offseason Valencia somehow discovered how to actually score.

Notice who scored though, two midfielders. Valencia still didn't address their weakness from last season. They will have to rely on their midfielders for scoring again this season.

Dortmund were complete crap. One of the worst teams I've ever seen attack wise in the CL. They had 1 shot at goal, and that barely made Seaman save.
I said Liverpool are not as defensive anymore and unpredicable. Virtually every team as scored 2 goals against them this season, 5 times in a row.
They are conceding goals like water through a teabag, but they can score now. Heskey was half a post away from equalising and sharew should have scored.
They'll still qualify.

Both. lol.
Most of the best teams win all their home games nowadays anyway, it's expected.
