When Fergie inevitably retires who do you want to see replace him?

I would like to see Martin O'Neill.

Carlos Queiroz was brought here not only to help SAF but to learn from him and he will be more familiar with the players by the time SAf retires so I think he will replace Fergie.

Martin O'Neill is the only one I can say can take his place firmly. But what a loss it would be for Celtic:(

Carols Queiroz would be a good choice too. He took the rap for a unbalanced real team, but I think he has talent.

But overall its a tough question AF is not a coach, but a legend. How do you replace a legend?

Whoever does have to do it will face one of the biggest challenges in sports history. Few coaches have been as lauded as SAF, and when he does leave it'll likely be 20 years or more for him at the helm. If we can win this season, I wouldn't have a problem hiring Queiroz, he seems to add some much-needed stability to the team. O'Neill would be a great pick too, but I'm guessing we'd basically have our choice of whoever we want. I just hope he gets to go out on top, at least with a Premiership trophy, and possibly a CL one too.

He should've retired as previously planned.

Since that didn't happen, we'll just have to wait and see. Seems like Martin O'Neil's keepin' himself in the running.

Hopefully he hasn't been born yet. :D

I have no idea.

I have always been against Martin O'Neill though. I felt he was poor in Europe, his teams boring and he relied too much on big physical players. However, given the current circumstances, my opinion has changed. Bring in MoN!

Zombie/Vampire Ferguson.
Personally, I'd go for Vampire Ferguson. Sure, he'd have to stay in the shadows for the day games, but really, do you want to see Zombie Ferguson's nose fall off at inopportune moments? Plus, Vlad the Ferguson has a nice ring to it.

Didier Deschamps. Yeah, I know he's not popular around Manchester. But that really shouldn't be reason not to hire him for anybody but Manc_Sean. He's the best guy out there, imho. I think Chelsea made a mistake by getting Mourinho instead.

I quite agree Achtung, although I think your being a bit negative, id hope for more than one win this season......... :D

But on the issue to hand, I'm very surprised by the fact nobody has mentioned McLaren? I think he's one of the best British managers around at the moment, he knows Man U and I think he'd leave Boro and do a good job there.

:p Touché...

As for McLaren, I'm not totally sure of the circumstances under which he left the club. Maybe he could be tempted back, not that he's turned heads at Boro or anything.

What about Mark Hughes?

What about Mark Hughes?

Don't you want someone who's been highly successful at a club level?

Come to think of it, who coaches Lyon? Might be interesting watching them in the CL for no other reason. Have to be clever to win 3 straight titles in a league with so much parity.

Are you all blind? Of course it has to be Gary Neville! :D
GNivvy has always seemed the managerial type to me.

However, I've always hoped Hughes takes over.

For me, it's Hughes, O'Neil or Queiros.

Well, by the time Sir Alex does retire, hopefully Sparky will have been by then.

Well, for part of that run it was Santini. I think you could persuade him to come aboard.........maybe he can get Silvestre's best form out. :D

if we are just tossing up names, why not Cantona :D Just need someone to convince him we need him as coach now.
