A special neighborhood in New York will host the “block party” featuring artists: Kanye West, Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Dead Prez and The Roots with Dave Chappelle serving as the event’s master of ceremonies.
The tickets are FREE. However, everyone must be bussed in from NYC. We will give you bus info as soon as it is locked down.
EVERYONE MUST BE BUSSED TO THE EVENT! The block party will last from 12pm - 9pm. You must be available from 12 noon till 9 pm.
Event Location: A Secret Location in New York City

These tapings can be a pain in the ass, but seriously, with this lineup, I'd say it's worth it.

I did a ticket request just for the hell of it. In the ticket request form, they ask for your ethnicity, hair color, height etc. I don't expect to get a ticket (plus, it's a 9 hour+ commitment), but who knows, they might need to fill a quota.

No to get all strange here, but does it strike anyone else as odd that they'd ask for ethnicity (and hair color)?
It's one thing to be looking for a certain kind of audience, but if they only send tickets based on ethnicity, seems kind of untoward, if not illegal.

It's a casting, Mr. Whitey Whiteman. I'm betting they'll be giving a different tier of tickets to whatever ethnic group they are casting, so those people can stand closest to the cameras.
