So why didn't Pedretti play ? Did anyone see the match ? Did OM look like a more dynamic team ?

pedretti, luyindula and lizarazu didn't play because troussier thinks they're not playing at there actual level.

They were not fluent as they were last week and could have so very easily tied or lost the match, especially the double horrendous miss by Caen in injury time. Also, they were playing against 10 man Caen since the first half but it did not look like they had any advantage.

I was not impressed, but, they won and at this point I don't think it's about how they play as long as they win.

Up to third in teh table, and two wins in a row. I'll take it, even if they didn't look dynamic.

Marseille offer Marlet, Luyindula for Man City's Anelka
tribalfootball.com - December 7, 2004

Olympique Marseille are ready to make Manchester City a player-swap offer for £10 million-rated striker Nicolas Anelka.

Marseille do not have the available funds to match City's asking price for the Frenchman, but know they are ready to listen to offers.

The Mirror says Marseille are ready to offer French international strikers Steve Marlet and Pegguy Luyindula in exchange for Anelka next month.

this news must be false for two reasons:

-Steve marlet doesn't belongs to l'OM; he's on a loan from fullam, so the deal could only be made with fullam, wich won't bring any money to l'om.
-Luyindula has been baught less than 6 month ago, and you cannot sell a player unless he has been in contract with his club for 12months . ( it's that way in france ).

i would say this shouldn't be a good choice, because anelka has got a selfish personality, and isn't liked at all here.
futur will tell....

Marseille eye Carew

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/images/playerpics04_05/football/norway/carew_red.jpg

John Carew is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Marseille.

It is well known that the French side are on the lookout for a big striker and a number of players have been linked with January moves to Stade Velodrome.

Bayer Leverkusen's Dmitar Berbatov, Borussia Dortmund's Jan Koller and Fenebahce's Pierre van Hooijdonk have all been mentioned in connection with the club.

It is now thought that giant Norwegian marksman Carew has been targeted by the French side as a possible new signing.

The 25-year-old currently plays for Turkish side Beikstas but reports say his agents have been trying to broker a move to the South of France.

Any of the strikers mentioned here would be great, but I think Carew would be one of the best. He's got pace and is great in the air... I bet he could tear up the Ligue 1.

yep i also think Carew could be a good choice ( van Hooijdonk and Koller seem a little too old from my point of view, and Berbatov hasn't got really killing stats consdderiing his price...)
But as this rumor has been mentioned during EVERY mercato for about two years, i would remain calm and think this could be just another rumor.....
