Let me see. They are a competitor to this website with their messageboards, they spammed this site with advertising propaganda and you wonder why they are censored........
Wake up a bit. Would you expect to see an advert for Sony on Panasonic's website? No. Remember that although this is just a fun message board to some, it is also a business. You don't give advertising space to those who could take away your business.

I do not agree with what you said. This is a public forum, which is not the same as the website where a company publishes information. Of course Sony will not publish anything to adverstise for Panasonic. But Sony has no right to restrict what their customers say in a public forum, even if they set it up themselves. This is a free country, where different businesses have the right to compete openly and fairly. Restricting your customers' right and ability to learn about your competitor's products and services is a cowardly way for you to admit that you are inferior to your competition.

Who's better is not relevant. SPAMming Bigsoccer is. They are not censored out because they are competitors, they are censored out because they have repeatedly abused the forums here.
I would also point out that there are plenty of other stores who are competitors as well and they are not censored.

Then there is no reason to stay on Bigsoccer. if you don't like it just leave, theres no keeping anyone here.
For me i have a lot of fun here as most people do i think. But in being here i tacitly accept all the rules and regulations set down by the managers and operaters of this site. Most people who post here and come here for news and arguing I think understand this pretty well.
Ergo i dont see any trouble with what was going on. Spamming another site is clearly not cool and ought to be stopped as soon as possible. Credit is due to the moderators and operators of BigSoccer

Obviously, you were thinking of me when you wrote that, because Motterman is a terrible mod. He closed the "Chelsea Overrated" thread before I could engage ZANI, and all because my computer was in the throes of death.
If Motterman was a good mod, he'd reopen that thread so I could post some of my more intellectual pearls of wisdom, like "ZANI, are you smoking crack again?"

This is a public forum owned by a private company, to whose rules you agreed to upon registering and continue to agree to each time you use the site per our Terms of Service. People link to our competitors all the time and we do nothing. People who spam, troll, etc, are dealt with as best we can. Our moderators are reasonable and fair, to the best of their ability. We certainly try to be as hands off as possible.
On that note, we have something new to show you (http://www.bigsoccershop.com/).

New store looks great, Huss. Now if you can just do something to get the manufacturers to make an Arsenal shirt in a size which will encompass my rather large frame, everything will truly be coming up roses...

While I'm not up on my first amendment jurisprudence, I believe you are absolutely wrong. The right to free speech only extends to you vis a vis the government. Private entities are free to regulate speech within certain bounds. Including commercial speech.
I believe SONY would be well within their rights to delete any Panasonic info on their public message boards.
Please do not try to apply common sense to law. As Lord Diplock said, the beauty of the law is that it is like a maze, not a motorway.
