I've given it a few listens, and in some ways I like it more than Up the Bracket. The vocals have so much more weight because of what's happened and going on.

I saw they were coming here and that there was a thread about them on BS so I figured I migh have to go check it out. I went and listened to the samples on Amazon and I must say...I just don't get what the big deal is.

I think I'll pass on them this time through, but if Radio 4 is opening for them down there as they are here, I'm betting you'll enjoy both bands. R4 is NYC's new-millenium Gang Of Four, and WILL make you dance...standing still is not an option.
I've changed my mind and have tickets in hand. The new R4 record is so good that I can't skip this double bill.

The Libertines seem to be a love them or hate them kind of band. Honestly, most of the people I speak to fall into the hate them camp.

Saw them last night at Webster Hall. Having seen them in smaller venues, I much prefer them in a club setting, but they still held their own. The crowd loved them, and it was amazing to hear how many people fell for the "I heard Pete's here and will play" rumor. I doubt that he's even allowed in the country.
Radio 4 just ripped it up. They are so much better live than on record, and seem to be getting better with every gig.
