Nice design, tech specs are nothing to get excited about.

Hmmmmm... so it's like a laptop with a stand, and a disattached keyboard.

Kind of. There's been a big debate about when that new G5 processor will be ported into laptops, heat issues etc. This certainly looks like paving the way.

It sure is purdy. I still prefer laptops, but that's the kind of desktop I would buy a desk for.

Same here, I prefer my PowerBook but I'd entertain getting one of those iMac's for my wife. The G5 is what would persuade me.
Next up, G5 PowerBook.

Have you heard about a dual-core G4 that has been suggested for the PB and iBook range?

Do tell more.
I will most likely get the next generation iBook, whenever it's launched. Not that I really have a complaint with my current one - it just turned 3 years old, but it still chugs along fine even though it's like 75 years old in computer age.

From what I've read on various techie sites, the G5 chip throws out an enormous amount of heat which prompted Apple to liquid cool them in the Power Macs.
As an alternative, Motorola (PowerPC chip maker) considered a similar Dual-Core setup to that of AMD.....oh, sod it. Much easier to provide a link than try to explain it myself. Lets see....Google....G4 Dual-Core...ah, here it is.

I've just kept an eye on Mac developements recently as I'm in the market for a high end laptop and Macs are no more expensive than anything else. Plus, chicks dig them :)

This new one looks nice and all (I'm a fan of how Macs looks modern), but won't it's small size make it very hard to repair?

I've heard that as well.. the new mac central chip is water cooled. Gonna be interesting to see how that works.
