Ok. I was just suffering from a bit of nostalgiaitis.
During the summer between 8th grade and my freshman year of high school, I went to Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Cortez, CO. I graduated from 8th grade in 1984.
Anyway, that summer, I was in Cortez for five weeks. I believe it was a three week session and a two week session. Between sessions, a bunch of the kids went to Durango for some kind of town day.
While we were there, a few of us decided to go see a movie. We went to see Silverado with Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, etc. I remember the movie very well. I have seen it recently, but, mostly, I just have fond memories of that summer.
I also know it was the summer of 1984 because it was also the year that Grandview USA came out. I came home from Colorado and my friend Melissa, who was in the movie, asked me where in the world I had been. She had wanted me to go to the premier, which was in Chicago, with her. Of course, I had been in Colorado - digging up Anasazi villages and seeing Silverfreakin'ado.
Why does everything say that the movie came out in 1985? I don't think Durango, CO was a big place for first limited releases of movies.
Any idea?
