That club is a mess. They're in turmoil. How can they still be bidding for Rooney? A new manager must be their number 1 priority, unless this whole Rooney thing i the will of the new guy they may already have lined up... ?

They do still have all that money from the Woodgate transfer. Unless there is a change in the plans for this team, I think they will try their best for Rooney.

MANCHESTER UNITED were today wrapping up the Wayne Rooney deal as rivals Newcastle officially quit the race for the England striker. Although Fergie would almost certainly not use that as his main formation, it is worth noting that Silvestre, Heinze, O'Shea & Spector can play LB or CB and O'Shea, Neville & Brown can play RB or CB, it it gives us the opportunity to utilize it if we're down with 20-30 minutes left or whatever.
