actually, I might try to get a ticket for the Bolton game.Bit of a derby match there, and should be good. Bolton look good this year and Okocha is on fire. Go to the Bishop before the match, it's around the corner from the grounds. Singing and drinking, great atmosphere. Also stop by Red Star Sports, they have plenty of "unofficial" and collector's type stuff there that you won't see at the Megastore. It's close to the Bishop on the corner. There's a fish n chip shop there too, good stuff. Have a blast man!

Oh, take the Old Trafford tour, try to go earlier than the day before a match as they start to shorten it the day before with all the preparation. The museum is included in the tour and the Cafe there is pretty good too, but it's better for the highlights they show than the food.

Away from football, if thats possible..., go and visit the Lowry. It's a theatre and cultural complex not far from Old Trafford and is a good evening out.

The show on at the moment is very good - Dial M for Murder -
There are also a couple of Art exhibitions of L.S. Lowry there.

Website for the Lowry (http://www.thelowry.com/default.aspx)

Other than that one of the suggestions here was to go to the 'Curry Mile', if you have ever had a taste for Indian food this is the place to go. Hundreds of restaurants all in one long street (hence the name). The best is called 'La Quela' pronounced La Kila. All the taxi drivers will know it. It's supurb food. I go every time Arsenal play a game in Manchester.

For anything else have a look at the website ive put in a link to below. It has quite a good tourist section so will have enough to give you idea's. One thing I would certainly say is bring an umbrella. It will rain!! Otherwise enjoy.

Right. Things to do in Manchester.

Urbis (museum of the modern city/City centre)
Imperial War Museum North (Salford Quays)
Lowry Centre (Salford Quays)
Manchester United Tour (Trafford)
Museum of Science and Industry (Manchester)

Then there is a night out in the Pink Quarter. Canal Street. A really good night out, no matter the sexual orientation.

If you fance super trendy, head over to the Northern Quarter.

Comedy Club is a must. Open Mike night is a hoot!

Now, Im assuming you have been clever enough to book direct flights into Manchester, since we have an international airport, much to Londoners amazement. If you do end up there, unless you are renting a car/not staying in Manchester, head straight to the railway station. It might be signed transport interchange. Taxis will cost a fortune, but will take you straight to your hotel. You can get a bus in to Manchester from the interchange, but be careful you get off at the right stop.

Train is the best bet. Manchester bound trains stop at Piccadilly, right in the heart of the city.

Anything else I can help you with? Though ask quick. I leave for the US on the 3rd!
