Our forwards cant score goals, let alone get shots on goal, or even threaten goal.
We have signed a 36 year old. is he supposed to get better? if im not mistaken, he played in the match today but i didnt hear his name called at all aside from mention in the starting lineups...
Ricketts isnt very good.
Joachim is fast, but aside from that also isnt very good.
none of these players are young.
they wont get better.
our midfield cant provide for these abysmal strikers.
were playing Richardson and Pugh in the midfield, and both are natural defenders. these two players have also accounted for nearly all of our goals.
Wright sounded very lazy today.
our backline isnt too bad, if we stop playing Duberry. why he continues to see the pitch, especially ahead of carlisle. and where is kilgallon?
sullivan has been fantastic, and that is really the only shining light that i can see so far.
we need a midfield unit. i think at least two, to be brought into the squad. we also need new strikers. because the three that we have brought in are not going to keep us in the championship, i fear.

Everyone keeps saying it: patience.
I know it's not easy to have but it's necessary in this situation. It's beginning to look more and more as though we aren't going to be able to make a run at a playoff spot this year. I'm fine with that. I want the best possible team to try and stick in the Premiership. It's only been 6 or 7 games so to label Leeds a disaster is a bit premature IMO. Strikers are at their best when they are familiar with the team surrounding them. Give them time to gel. This is a whole new club.

A couple of years in Div 1 would be good for the club as a whole. Teach the people who run it to live within their means, pay off the debts and rebuild the club from the ground up.

I hope they're good enough not to drop again.. that's all i ask his year.
now if they kept milner and matteo they might have had a shot to bounce back but alas...

im not thinking a run at the playoffs. i was never thinking that. that was out of hte question from the beginning. there was no way we were going to do that with the losses we suffered in terms of players leaving.
i was hoping for a mid-table finish, but now i feel that we are demonstrating that we dont have the qualty of even a low table division 1 side.
yeah teams need some time to gel but my goodness, you would hope that the strikers would be able to earn at least a FEW chances on goal without being fully comfortable. they have shown nothing but incompetance.
pugh has been the only really promising signing.
yes sullivan has been a great signing, but in terms of building for the future, he isnt exactly very young.
deane should have never been brought in at 36, and ricketts and joachim are obviously not the calibre that we need to stay in this division.
perhaps i would be more patient if we were actually being competitive, but we arent. we are losing to sides like sheffield united, and gillingham. and theyre not even close matches.
we struggle to win against huddersfield for crying out loud.
our strikers have yet to score in what, 6 matches?
i really think its going to be a struggle to stay up this season. we have a pretty pathetic squad of players.

Pay off debts with what would be my question? If Leeds still lost money last season after selling the majority of their squad and slashing their wage bill dramatically while still getting Premiership revenue I don't see how a profit will be made this season.
Leeds' revenues have been significantly cut and I know their expenses have been cut as well, but I don't think it levels out, Smith, Viduka, and Robinson weren't making that much. This team seems more likely to hit D-2 than the Prem again anytime soon. I'd expect Leeds will lose money again this year, and unless some magical cash injection is found this club is in serious trouble.

Profit isn't really as important as us breaking even... We won't be out of debt until we're back in the Premiership, or new owners buy the club...

Yes and no. Profits in and of themselves don't matter. But if the team is having trouble meeting it's debt obligations, that's where the trouble occurs.
Back when Leeds were relegated from the premeirship, I felt that they were in danger of being relegated again (this year). As the summer showed, they were busy selling off the squad and trying to patch together a completely new team. The Championship (or 1st division or whatever) is a tough league with a long season. I wouldn't write Leeds off yet. But if they're playing like this come Christmas, that's when I'd really start to worry. Look at the bright side, at least no one's bought the club yet and moved them to Milton-Keyes.

So how, persay, is this club going to improve? (which it is now obvious they will need to do before they can think of a playoff spot let alone promotion) The last few years should have shown that all having a massive debt over your head leads to is slashing expenses, that will continue after this year as well, if anyone is worth buying (doubtful at this point) they will be sold. Leeds' should have made a run at promotion this year (kept Milner, Robinson, and Viduka) to try to get another shot at Prem money. I don't view this team getting out of that massive debt without the injection (and if that didn't come while still in the Prem why would it come now that Leeds is a mediocre D-1 side). I view this side much like Ipswich, and will get closer to D-2 than the Prem.

Only an estimate (http://worldsoccer.about.com/b/a/2004_01_21.htm)
Leeds United. Top Five Earners Estimated Weekly Wage bill:
Mark Viduka - $110,000
Alan Smith - $73,000
Nick Barmby - $58,500
Seth Johnson - $58,500
Paul Robinson - $55,000

another reason why i think relegation from the championship is a very real danger.
right now leeds' squad depth is about that of a glass of water.
im scared to think if two more midfielders are struck down with injuries, or god forbid, two defenders.

For one, I am not in a panic. Leeds United A.F.C. having match in hand. A win simply leapfrog them up ten. A determental win next match. Its happening maybe the next three needing 2w's with 1 tie. Coventry and Plymouth atop and slightly higher Crew. If situation happen, control just went way of the sword. Now we already marked Nottingham Forrest on Arsenal F.C. historic match. Trump card if you will. I think. Mr. Convey move in with Reading F.C. This tell could be similiar with Leed players. A new situation for promotion. A must have team in relegation. Locals mustnt buy into Arsenal F.C. priors. Trickery works and illusioonist flirts with knuckle sandwich.
