Sorry, I'm sure this has been covred repeatedly on these boards but I've been out of the country for a while and I haven't been visiting Bigsoccer. Can anyone tell me the best (that is cheapest) way to get FSW? Can it merely be suscribed to if you have digital cable or do you have to buy a better package. from my own research it seems pretty tough to get for less than $50 a month but I thought someone here might know a way.

You need to call your cable company to see if they even carry it. Quite a few do not.

If your cable company doesn't have it then I would suggest getting Dish Network satellite. For that $50 price you will also get Gol TV in English which is in the same package as FSW. Gol TV brings you La Liga and Serie A. Dish Network is the best thing for soccer fans.

You can get FSW for as little as about $43 via DirecTV by picking up the Total Choice package and subscribing to the SportsPak.

The Direct TV bill calculator is saying that will cost $48.99.

I'm sorry, my wife had a baby recently and my sleep alotment has dropped significantly. It would cost about $52 to get FSW with the base DTV package and locals. :)

My cable bill is only $5/month =]

I get basic analog cable for free with my condo and I only have to pay for the additional 5 digital channels I wanted each month.

Actually I live in Winnipeg, the same city that Fox Sports World Canada is located. Lots of apartments and condo's are setup this way where there is free analog cable television included. The cable company calls this "bulk-billing". Basically when the buildings were put up, the landlord setup a contract with the cable company to offer cable service all tenants in a condo block which is then paid for collectively from the tenants at a massivly discounted rate which comes from general condo fees. I understand it works out to about $18/month from my condo fees for what would normally be $40 worth of cable service.

So since I already get full analog cable as part of my condo, the cable company simply lets you buy a digital box and pay for additional digital channels either one at a time or you can get a 5-pack of channels for $5 or a 10-pack for $10. As a result, my cable bill is only $5/month

For Dish Network, Fox Sports World and GolTV in English are available as part of the America's Top 180 package - Monthly Price: $44.99 Annual Price: $495.00. The annual price works out to be $41.25 per month.

I have that package and I do pay annually.

Dish Network also offers Pay Per View soccer events, such as some English Premier League matches (other than the ones shown on Fox Sports World), MLS Direct Kick, and some International matches, such as World Cup Qualifiers, Friendlies, and Euro2004 recently, among others.
