I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade. But IF Man U had an off year this season, do you think there would be a lot of shakeup and other serious implications?

Depends. If we're 7 points off the pace when Ferdinand and RVN return, and we're 5 off at the end of the season, a huge shake-up would seem extremely harsh.
Some things will have to be fixed, win or lose. I think it's beginning to look like we need a Giggs replacement, rather than merely cover. We still need an oustanding holding midfielder (unless someone emerges). But those things are true no matter how well we play.

Not really the time, place or thread for that, is it?

WOW! Historic moment. For once, I think you're being a bit harsh.
We've dropped 5 out of 9 points after this game. I think it's a fair question after the result, and there wasn't any malice in it (unlike in the comments of other Arsenal fans in this thread).

Yeah but haven our back four are in shambles. This game looked very similar to every other game last year when Rio was out, with 8-10 men behind the ball in the bunker for Blackburn. It's just that this year we have so many better attacking players that we snuck a goal in there.
Thus, I think it is a bit premature to talk much about that yet. Wait until we get everyone healthy and then if they don't produce, we talk about going another direction.
And as I said above we lost at Blackburn last year and got a point this year. That's improvement.

How does that question relate to the Blackburn - United match though? That question deserves it's own thread.... gives me an idea.

Once again sorry about the timing. I wasn't sure how it would look starting a thread like that, and I simply wanted to ask when I knew a lot of Man U fans would be around on the boards. But yes the timing wasn't the greatest.

This has nothing to do with club loyalties, you're breaking BS rules.

Wow, feel like I opened Pandora's Box here. Now I'm not going to pretend Man U is my favorite team. But I was really just wanting to ask the question while it was on my mind. I know Man U has had a lot of injury problems recently. While you certainly can't write off Man U, you obviously wouldn't want to fall behind either. If most teams had an off year they'd probably just write it off to bad luck or whatever. But I know Man U has a lot of expectations. Could anyone see SAF not on the sidelines? What would it take for something like that to happen?
