He looks like a preying mantis, and his smile really is creepy. He seems like a nice enough guy, though.

Galaxy broadcaster in 1996
Wizards broadcaster from 1997-2002
part of MLS ExtraTime cast in its second season (2001 ?)
cohost of MLS Wrap 2003-
Also the CONCACAF/CONMEBOL reporter for BBC Radio
I believe he also called boxing on espn2 before his current contract with Fox.
He's primarily a PBP announcer, but has filled in as color commentator as well. He's done MLS on espn2, A-League on FSW, and other. I think he's currently doing the French Ligue 1 games on FSW.
He still lives in the KC area, hence he did the internet broadcast of the Wizards mid-week USOC game (photo above).
I believe the other photos is one of mine or Wade Jackson's from either the 2003 or 2004 MLS SuperDrafts.

I love the face he makes when he introduces a game on MLS Wrap. All contrived and machine like. I swear its claymation. Very funny.. I cant tell if he is trying the be serious or is doing material.

You guys are making me laugh! But that's cause I'm not a Wheelock fan. Anyway, I think his voice is annoying and nasal. Or maybe the other way around ;)

Listeing to the BBC last night Sean gave the scores from the CONCACAF WCQ matches. Is this something new or had I missed him on there before?

I first heard Wheelock on BBC Radio 5 live on a programme called 'World Football' which is on in the early hours of Saturday morning here. He's on every week.

Wow, he's showing his teeth in that picture. Actually makes him look normal. Usually (or at least on MLS Wrap), he keeps his lips pressed together and with that big chin it just looks silly.

What is it with the FSW announcers and the gay porn/boy band sideburns? Kinda looks llike the Barbizon School for knuckleheads.

This guy knows what he is talking about. He is not afraid to speak his mind even in the face of his bosses. Read his last article.

Another thread about Sean Wheelock's work on the BBC 5 Live program Up All Night. I did this weekly until I went on vacation and I haven't been able to catch the show as they moved it to Saturday mornings from Monday mornings, and when in broadcasts here, local GMT-9, I'm in Friday rush hour traffic.

The first time I listened he made tons of errors. With each successive one he got better. He will listen to constructive criticism. I remember his play by play with MLS during the WCF2002, and I have to say that I thought he was good.
FWIW, the more and more I watch games that J.P. Delacamara calls on TV, the more I think he's just a radio guy who hasn't been able to transition to TV as two-thirds of what he says is far too obvious to viewers or he is doing resets far too often. I like his voice, but it is tedious to hear the same things over and over and he doesn't seem to work with analysts too well. By now I'd like to have Sean Wheelock do some of J.P.'s games just to see who's can work out better. I haven't seen last weekend's USA-Salvador match. Is Sean doing the USMNT matches for FSW?
