It's over! ;)
FT Bolton 2-3 Liverpool
BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/2254693.stm)Baros makes his mark
Even without Michael Owen Liverpool still had too much attacking class for Bolton as Gerard Houllier's strikers finally discovered their goalscoring boots to keep in touch with Arsenal.

Well, our guys seem to STILL be a little unclear on the concept of not blowing leads, but at least they got the main thing right: score more goals than the other guys. Can't wait to see this one on tape tonight.

BIG SOCCER REMOVE THIS GUYS MODERATION RIGHTS PLEASE.
sigh...where to start??
First of all, it's "you're", which is short for "you are".
Second of all, it's not "moderation" that Matt Clark has rights to, although he does practice it and you would do well to learn some. He is a "moderator". I'm not going to explain the definition of "moderation" to you, as I would be able to hear your head explode, even here in San Francisco.
We'll go over the unwritten rules again for you.
1)We know the game, or at least keep our postings to within the limitation of our respective knowledge.
2)We respect each other, or at least those worthy of receiving respect (which, and I'm sure I speak for everyone here, you have not earned).
3)If you come out with hot sports opinions, at least back them up with SOMETHING.

Baros, Heskey, Murphy, and Gerrard were all excellent. Once Gerrard started finding Heskey open on the left midway through the first half, we were allowed to control the pace of the game. Bolton gave more attention to Heskey in the second half...no prob. We'll use Danny.
Poor game by Sami. I think it was because he was too often covering for Diao, who was weak in Henchoz' place. The first goal came because Sami missed a clearance header that he shouldn't have tried to go for. Instead, he hit the player, and that sprung Gardner.
2nd goal: Diao caught ball-watching as it goes right over his head on to Campo.
I'm glad we pulled through and Heskey caught them napping at the end, but there's still more work to be done.

Well...I watched the first half, and then decided during the break that I would check the net for the Leeds/ManU match. It was just then that I realised that I was watching a tape delay and I now knew the end result before watching the second half. So I immediately went to the grocery store, knowing full well that I would get to see the second half at least a half-dozen times on FSW.
First half observations...
Diao needs to calm down. He's trying to hard, which is causing him to get really sloppy. Every battle in the air seemed to result in play being stopped and Bolton getting a free kick, and most clearances seemed to be booted upfield with noone really in mind for the target. Did he calm down at all in the second half??
Baros' finish for the first goal was class.
Despite Bolton beating ManU last week, we still don't seem to be up for these type of matches. We have to take all games seriously if we want to win the league. It seemed like they were just going through the motions in the first half.

Agreed on Diao, he is certainly better in a Hamann type of role in midfield than at the back. Obviously Houllier didn't want to risk Traore in the middle either.
Welcome back Henchoz next week. The general consensus amongst the Reds fans in Liverpool (well my 3 brothers anyway!) is that the debacle against Birmingham wasn't helped by Henchoz going off injured at half time.
We now seem very light in the middle of the back four. After Sami and Henchoz the level drops off considerably. Let's hope both stay fit and Babbel is seen soon.
All credit to Baros and Heskey for their goals. Doing something Diouf and Owen couldn't do in the past few games.
I expect Owen will be back for the Valencia match. I wonder if a Baros-Owen partnership is possible?

Look at the screen name. Strange to justify your existence by who or what you are against, rather than by what you stand for.

You must lead a pretty miserable existence. My guess is that you're actually a blue nose who is trying to wind up Liverpool supporters. Unfortunately all you've done is prove that you have the mental acuity of a single cell amoeba. You should concentrate on a few things: first pull your pathetic pimply head out of your nether region, secondly learn some manners, and thirdly don't come back until you can come up with an intelligent thought. If you stick to that we won't see you until the turn of the century.
I doubt if you actually live anywhere near Anfield either, but you don't have a location listed. Conveniant. But since you are so worried about people's location, try and remember two inventions from the past century. Airplanes and television. Both make it possible for people far away to follow Liverpool. I know for a fact there are a few ex-pats here who do. Two of the best years of my life were spent living in England. And now thanks to digital cable I get to see more Liverpool matches sitting here in Hawaii than I did in England.
Now go to your room and stare at your Duncan Ferguson poster.

How does proximity to the Club grounds affect one’s strength of support?
Most of the posters here seem to be pretty distant from Anfield. In just a few weeks on these boards, I’ve been hugely impressed with the quality, civility, and support of the folks here. You’re (note apostrophe) the sole exception I’ve encountered.
Does sheer proximity to the grounds make you “Redder?” Evertonians might disagree.
And you’re (note apostrophe) located where?
You’re (note apostro . . . never mind) now on my ignore list, RINO.

I've been dragging my feet on paying my $30 to be a premium member, but the past week has convinced me that the ignore list alone would make this a good deal. Now where's my credit card . . .
P.S. Are we sure MUFC isn't a BigSoccer insider trying to drum up some business?

If you could only back up those words you miserable, snivelling, wall eyed muck sucker.
You conveniently avoided all the issues again. Further testament to your stunning lack of mental prowess. You do seem to have a tremendous grasp on gutter talk though. Your parents must be so proud.

Watching Baros last night reminded me of Fowler at his prime, esp his first goal, the swift change of feet and clinical finish, does anybody else think so?
