The draw is going on right now. At the moment PSG have been drawn with Chelsea and Porto.

Every French team got placed in the same group as an English team. I don't like this. Could spell trouble.

Enough of this PSG vs Marseille nonsense and let us focus on the French teams chances of going through. Last year 2 French teams won their groups but I dont see that happening this year looking at the groups. PSG I think will go through. I would not be worried about Porto because of the manager and players they lost. I think PSG can take at least 3 pts from them. CSKA Mosow are decent but I dont think they are good as PSG. I expect PSG to beat them at home and draw them on the road. I think with Chelsea if they are lucky they can get 2 draws. That would be 9 pts which should be enough to finish 2nd and go through.
Lyon I think have easiest path. I know Fenerbache and Sparta are good teams but the 3 time champion of France should be better than those teams. Maybe Lyon can beat Man U at home but I'm skeptical of them taking any points on the road. I think Lyon will finish 2nd and go through just barely.
Monaco I think have toughest group. They are still weak in the midfield. They beat Deportivo the last time but they are a different team now. I dont like Monaco's chances of going into Liverpool or Deportivo. Olmpiakos are good but Monaco finish ahead of them before. I think Monaco will finish 3rd and just barely get squeezed out. Which may not be a bad thing because they have good chance to win the UEFA Cup. Last year no French teams grouped with English teams this year all three are.

Actually English teams have a better record against French sides.

Last season was a bad year for English football in Europe. But we've all got stronger in the summer.

I'd rather French teams play Italian and Spanish sides rather than English teams because I fear English teams the most.
