Niggling Browser Query

Sorry if this is really basic, but it's bugging the hell out of me.

Whenever I click on a link that opens a page in a new window (eg the link to rep a post), the new page opens (a) really, really tiny, and (b) so far down in the bottom right it's three-quarters off the screen.

How do I reconfigure my browser so that the page opens in a different place, and at a decent size? I'm running FireFox 0.8.

Any help greatly appreciated.

This might work. Drag it to the size you'd like, then close all your browsers (I think this is a reset of sorts). Then reopen them and resume your normal internet activity. I had the same issue the other night, did this and everything is back to normal. No promises it will work.

If we are talking IE, then hold down shift as you click on the X.
