another idea

Back in Croatia our SC has something called "Voice of the North" (supporters are on north stand). Not sure on all details since we never had it 15 years ago :) It's basically a small flyer that gets sent around the stand or given at gate during bigger home games just updating general membership about certain things. If SC has new scarfs for sale there's prolly add for it, if they're putting together a large mosaic during game it's probably mentioned there, if there's large scale SC organized bus trip to next away game, words/melody to new song, there's probably allways web page address, SC office address and maybe a few pictures.

Reason for that is because even tho our message board has 1300 registered people posting on it, a vast majority either don't have online access or don't bother with it, so that's a good way to keep things more organized. Plus there are people that don't go to every game so this is a good way for them to keep more informed.

Seems to me it's same way with BB, not everyone is dumb enough like us to spend a lot of time on message boards :D

So I have this idea, and I have ability to copy/xerox few hundred flyers without a problem. What I don't have is talent to make the actual thing aside from contributing something once in a while. If someone or someones (ahem, certain brothers seem to have way with words :D ) can put together a 1 or 2 sided word or pdf doc with something like that I'd be happy to make you 200 copies (give out 50 at tailgate, put 50 on Barra ticket window, give out 100 during games... or whatever).

In fact now that I think about it call it something more inclusive and I'll be glad to xerox 600 copies to spread among BB/SE/LN. We've got to have enough talent between all 3 groups to pull this off every or every other home game. I know you SE bastards are lurking here and reading this so I'm not crossposting ;)

You scared me! I thought for a moment you meant La Boca had gone offline, as in not writing anymore

I kind of like the idea of a flyer, we can reuse as confetti inside RFK :)

Sounds like a great idea Dog, I'll get with you on saturday and maybe have Mary come up with a design for a cover sheet. That way we can use it over and over as the season rolls on. Marshall's a good writer and I can translate over to espaņol.

Man, with these new boards the ideas are really flying and coming to life!

Too bad these boards are completley useless and a bad idea right???

cover sheet would be great, then it can just be filled inside preexisting format :)

It's instant marketing tool too, I noticed about 10 people came down to rail during second half of NE game and were trying to follow songs as much as they could. I'm thinking something like this would have come in handy, with instand web addresses and just letting people know that we can exchange their tickets from elsewhere in stadium if they would like to come sing for 90 mins (that fact is not really obvious).

Also if I butchered the title I'll have you know I just stole it from Marshall. erm... no habla espanol, senor or something :)

Great idea. I've felt for awhile that we haven't put enough attention into the non-BigSoccer/internet crowd. I would love to have a commentary in spanish on the website. This has been something I've been trying to get since Oscar and I started the site. Despite my passion for futbol, chaos and honorary Bolivian status my espanol is muy malo. We need a spanish writer.
Oscar is looking into promoting the Barra once again on Latino radio in the near future.

I'll work on something and put it together. Thanks for all your recent contrbutions to La Barra Brava BBulldog you're the type of character that makes this group of locos great. Make sure your email is on the Barra site and I'll get you something to copy.

This has been a long futbol layoff! I'm almost done with packing up my old house and we are waiting for the new one to be finished this winter. The little hoolie says hello to all the Barra faithful too.
