Ways to improve the game...

These are my 101 ways to improve football. Some are limited to of course England, but some are generalised. Comments please and if you have any other suggestions on how to improve our beautiful game.

BTW: it was partly inspired by a recent issue of FourFourTwo…:)

1.Send players off for diving - It’s cheating and cheating should be punished.
2.Return football to Saturdays with a 3pm kick off
3.No more mid-week internationals - waste of time
4.Get rid of the stupid interfering with play on offsides - yes you Van Nistelrooy
5.Players who dispute the referees decision to be carded - no more Man United arrogance.
6.Players to be more human - should be punished and treat like every one else (especially when you arrested for DUI.)
7.Sack those who are guilty (like Lee Hughes) - maybe Jonathan Woodgate should have.
8.Ban ridiculous hats from grounds - they look stupid.
9.Ban spitting
10.Ban players kissing the badge - yes you Alan Smith
11.Extra tax for footballers - because they earn too much.
12.Introduce a salary cap - no one should earn 100,000 a week.
13.Introduce a pay as play scheme - play crap you don't get paid (do I get paid the same for working crap?)
14.Scrap unnecessary cup competitions - League cup/Intertoto etc...
15.Get rid of the expanded Champions league - finishing fourth in EPL doesn't mean you can enter the CL..
16.Get rid of Confederations cup - what is the point?
17.Bring back Home internationals - England, Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland and rep.ireland; have it every two years.
18.Ban players with ridiculous haircuts - mullets included.
19.Make David Beckham banned from any media coverage.
20.Get rid of the playoffs - if you finish 6th, why should you be allowed to play in the topflight?
21.Get former players to become refs - they know the game better.
22.Stop making footballs more lighter - ffs
23.Stop cutting the pitch so it’s circular - make it straight horizontal lines to help the linesman, groundskeeper.
24.Introduce technology into the game.
25.Ban music from being played after a team scores - its crap.
26.Gid rid of penalties - its too hard to watch
27.Introduce sudden death - just play till someone scores, that'll be more interesting.
28.Managers to stop telling bulls**t - say it as it is.
29.Bring back standing - we miss the atmosphere
30.Lifetime bans for hooligans - we don't want people ruining our game
31.Stop Mexican waves
32.Stop Half-time nonsense (i.e = quiz, penalty competition, guess what hand etc,etc...)
33.Get rid off hand-shakes at the beginning of match - whats the point, they do it afterwards, no love lost
34.Introduce a winterbreak - no more football at Christmas please...
35.Ask tabloids to stop being so bloody negative and bias.
36.Bring back smoking in grounds - In England everyone can't smoke anywhere now...
37.Make the food better - I don't want a hot dog or a burger!
38.Ban managers from being sent to the stands - its their opinion ref (why not send the whole stadium out?)
39.Give young players a good education - like in America
40.Show more football on telly - not on ppv
41.Bring back the insane goalkeepers - we miss them
42.Stop players from sneaking extra yards.
43.Get rid of the stupid time the goalie has to let go of the ball - its daft
44.Don't send players off for professional fouls
45.Don't give penalties for it as well - a sending off is already punishment.
46.Get rid off PPV - make football free to all!!!
47.Get rid of expensive football kits - they're not made by Armani.
48.Get rid of stupid coloured away kits - green and turquoise? I don't think so.
49.Don't punish tackle from behind - its part of the game (how else do you get the ball?)
50.Get rid of football commentators - they ruin the game
51.Stop internationals being played at one stadium - make it rotational, so the whole country can see the NT.
52.Make goalies where green tops and referees black - no different colours pls.
53.Get rid of racism, bigotry and any other divide in football now - including sectarianism, Rangers and Celtic...
54.Give fans the right to become board members - they have the most important opinions on how a club should be run.
55.Get rid of golden goal/silver goal - FOREVER!!!
56.Get players to do more community work - like they do in America (they earn enough.)
57.Get foreign referees to enter the game (different opinions and ways to do things.)
58.Stop players who feign injury - introduce a 5 minute minimum spell they can be off the field for, to stop wasting time.
59.Introduce pre-contracts - so we know your intentions at the end of the season (like Sol Campbell)
60.Get agents out of football - what do they actually do?
61.Tax the richest clubs - sorry Roman...
62.Introduce a transfer budget for every team (you can only spend 20m in one season)
63.Gid rid of transfer window... - the point is?
64.Limit number of foreigners - stop our young players being deprived of first team action by a bunch of foreigners...
65.Stop young players being poached - like Fabregas to Arsenal
66.Don't deduct points for clubs in administration - why? football is in enough turmoil as it is.
67.Distribute the wealth - stop the rich getting richer and the poor even poorer...
68.Players not to have names on back - we know our own team ffs.
69.Make the FA run the league properly - don't mess about with secretaries and disgracing our game.
70.Make the finals at other grounds - LDV vans trophy at the Millenium stadium? please...
71.Suspended players to be without pay - no-one should get suspended with full pay...
72.Compulsory drug tests - after every game (like the olympics)
73.Make young players earn less - don't give a 18year old 70 grand a week.
74.Don't punish streakers - its just a bit of political fun...
75.Introduce sin bins - to cool players off after a bit of handbags
76.Have 4 linesman
77.Stop the lower leagues being called ridiculous names - championship my arse...
78.Don't over price fans - we don't deserve to shell out 50 quid for a ticket
79.Allow fans to sing - ffs its part of the game stewards
80.Don't allow players to control clubs - they're not the be all and end all...
81.Stop sponsors from ruining our tops - they look crap on some clubs...
82.Allow a player to celebrate - don't book him for taking his shirt off ffs
83.Support grass root football at all levels - is the future (look at France...)
84.Give stadiums "a fans only" zone - make it segregated for fans who want to sing, shout, wave banners like true supporters...
85.Make bigger teams allocate more - 10% of their stadium capacity, to stop being out numbered at St James and Old Trafford.
86.Stop crap players wearing white boots - wtf? you have to be class to wear them...
87.Have the option to introduce lengthy bans - 12 match for violent dissent - that'll teach em...
88.No booing the national anthems – its not right and its unfair…
89.Ban mascots - they're crap...
90.Bring back flares - not the trousers but the light kind...
91.Get rid of the goal difference - seperation by difference is unfair - have a one off playoff match for relegation/championship etc..
92.Stop Fifa - their daft laws are ruining our game...
93.Also...Stop Sepp Blater from opening his mouth - STFU!!!
94.Don't let Celtic and Rangers in the EPL - not fair on the other 72 who want to be in it...
95.Don't sell out - that means you MK Dons!!!
96.Allow Robbie Savage to be exempt from violent attacks - cause everyone hates him...
97.7 subs not 5 - c'mon increase the number of subs allowed in a match...
98.Introduce heat rule - if its too cold to play, then its called off, what about when its 120 degrees? Not another Marc Vivien Foe tragedy please..
99.Football is a physical, contact sport - okay refs?
100.Implement all of the above!!!

I would like to say that you have no understanding of the game in england, to make this comment. Team are scraping to survive, whilst Chelsea spent 100m a season. Half of our lower clubs are in adminstration and Man Utd and Chelsea are laughing...

Money is ruining our game - Americans wouldn't know about this because your clubs have a system of spreading the distribution of players and wealth...

Also Randy - I say ban the fact you play golden goals - play 30 minutes extra time, THEN Sudden death....

some are good.... i've always seen a booking for taking off your jersey as stupid. fifa said it was 'a show of excessive jubilation and unsportsmanlike' or something like that. i guess fifa wants to control how happy u get after u score. flares are awsome... also , kits are overpriced, especially when they make replicas and authentics.

Yeah most of the items on the list are pretty good. I still dont understand why a shirt has to cost $80. And the whole yellow card for taking off the shirt thing is ridiculous. Then again, look at the NFL. Players get fined etc. all the time for doing "excessive" celebrations. :rolleyes:

All of these points that aren't England-specific can be summed up with one rule:
1. Ban the Portuguese.
See if Porto can win another cup without diving, playacting, and timewasting.
As for me, I'd do away with the away goals rule. What, is a goal like currency where it's worth more depending where you're at? Last I knew they all equalled 1 everywhere in the world.
And yeah, the kits are WAY too expensive considering they're made by 90-lb. children in Malaysia.

The "justification" for this, is that without the shirt the ref has no way of knowing who causes trouble if something happens. Should a fight or some other conflict breakout, the numbers are the way to tell players apart, without the shirt, refs wouldn't have a way to know who was involved.
