Chamique Holdsclaw is a player of undenable talent in the WNBA.

But this year she:

1) Gets a new coach to replace the legendary Marianne Stanley
2) Voices her frustration in the media about the way the season is going
3) Does not get picked for the U.S. Olympic Team
4) Disappears in mid-season for medical tests
5) Freezes out Washington reporters in their search for answers
6) Tells the AP she is not pregnant and does not have cancer
7) Skips out on the practices that the Washington Mystics are holding during the Olympic interval

I don't know, but how Iverson-esque is this? What do you all think is the matter? She was pegged to be The Best Ever at one time, but what's going on?

Overreact: to react excessively

Context: the parts of a discourse that surround a word or passage and can throw light on it's meaning. (as in out of context)

Probably should have worded differently, and it was a question not a statement, notice the question mark???? My point is everything listed in the first post is consistent with a possible drug problem, just asking if this was a possiblity not stating it as fact, hence the question mark. Typical BS overreaction.

WNBA sources say the reason for Holdsclaw's absence is that so strong a conflict exists between her and first-year coach Michael Adams, one or the other is almost certain to depart before next season.

In other words, the disease appears to be "petulance." She went public about differences with Nancy Darsch and Tom Maher, and when the Mystics fired Marianne Stanley, Holdsclaw came out in the media with surprise.

One more thing:

Fast Break magazine says that she has already made it clear that she is becoming a free agent after the 04 season and will sign with the New York Liberty.

i've suffered from severe clinical depression a number of times in my life.

my empathy goes out to her, into her soul, in an effort to heal her.

everything becomes black & white; there is no color.

here's to Chamique finding some color in her life soon.
