Donovan would consider moving to Texas (http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/9480272.htm?1c) (SJ Mercury News)

Doesn't Landon read Bigsoccer? Doesn't he know that under no circumstances will he consider moving to Texas? And that he'll either go to Chivas USA or to Germany?

No. Landon's only soccer news source is 3-6-1.

Oshoniyi set to play tonight in U.S. Open Cup (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/9477837.htm) (Kansas City Star)

From that:

"I got kind of emotional," said Hamm, inarguably the greatest female soccer player of all time.

No, Bob, it is arguable. For someone who rarely covers soccer, you could have just covered the fact you're not that hip to it by not making the absolute "inarguably" statement. There are those who make the argument that Akers is the best female player ever. Not saying she is or she isn't - but you can make the argument.

Houston may soon be getting a new pro sports team (http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/082304_local_soccer.html) (KTRK-TV)

From that:

"There is no firm timeline to when a decision will be made regarding the location of the soccer team. The earliest a local MLS team could begin playing would be in the 2006 season."

And that is why you don't let news people report on sports stories.

He might be in Houston by the time the next one comes out.

Come to think of it, he might be retired by the time the next one comes out.

Say it ain't so! Don't deny us our fix!

And how DARE Lanny-Cakes tell us what HE wants rather than listen to us? If he would only take the trouble to read these boards, he would learn that there's no WAY he's going to get any better by sticking around MLS. And transferring to the Galaxy next year?

America's golden boy loves America. No two ways about it. Moving to Germany or England? I'll believe it when I see him in a jersey with the team sponsor splashed garishly across the front. (And no, I'm not talking about the Nats' practice shirts.)

Where does the quote come from? Calling a crew boat a shell is similar to spelling tennis racket as "racquet." Both are pretty old-school now. Using them would get you dismissed as someone trying hard to look like someone in the know.

Holy crap, would anybody be able to stop Ruiz and Donovan together?

Well, I guess Sampson would be in the best position to do that.

I wasn't aware that the pic was that damn huge and of course I can't edit it so there it is without going away. If a mod could help and get rid of it, that'd be swell.

Hey, I can see myself in that picture! Thanks for posting it, you just made my day. (BTW, when posting as an embedded image I believe it is possible to shrink the image size. You can do that in the WYSIWYG editor.)
