Hopefully benitez replaces him with a Spanish keeper during the next transfer window. Dudek is average and should not be keeping for a club like Liverpool.

i can't agree with u that Dudek is just average & doesn't deserve to play for LFC. he has been 1 of our most consistent gk in recent times and is still highly regarded among continental clubs if not EPL. at least he has decent club & country experience that bodes well for the transition of Kirkland eventually becoming our no.1 gk. but then again, i'm not surprise that RB will soon recruit a gk after sorting the midfield & defence which is of more urgency. honestly, i'd love him to stay.

He needs to go, but I don't like Kirkland either.

Hopefully benitez replaces him with a Spanish keeper during the next transfer window. Dudek is average and should not be keeping for a club like Liverpool.Well, I know he’s only Poland’s first choice for international goalkeeper and played in their last few international tournaments. He was just the mainstay of Liverpool’s charge to make fourth place in the EPL to make Champions league. So why in the hell do we need to keep him…??? Dump the bum…

Replace him with a Spanish Goalie, good idea. My buddy Manuel got a job with a Mexican restaurant here (even though he’s from Seville,) will he do….???

I played in goal for several good teams (No, not the Cosmos) in several different countries and I’ve been a goalie’s coach for a long time. My opinion, Jerzy’s an excellent keeper! He’s a shot stopper with excellent reflexes, good anticipation and reads the game well and has good rapport with his defense. He had a loss of confidence period a couple of seasons ago but came back well from it.

He’s not going to stop them all (wouldn’t that be nice) I forget how may times I watched Tim Howard get nutmegged last season alone, but a lot of people think he’s sliced bread.

Having said that, the way things are going with Kirkland and his ability to break so easily we probably should get a backup or see if we have one coming though the academy.

Dump him, don’t be an idjit…!!!

He blew it against Manchester United at home last year as well. That said, I feel more comfortable when he is in goal. Kirkland looks a bit unsure when coming out especially against Leeds last year and in preseason this year. However, Dudek's positioning was bad on the Tottenham goal and he gifted Anelka the goal today, so I think other options should be considered.

I coach outfield players but I have never coached goalkeepers. I know basic fundamentals from visually learning them, but have never seen it trained at a high level.

US, What are some of the things you feel attribute to Dudek's mistakes? Mostly confidence, positioning, really bad luck? Also what do you like about Kirkland that sets him apart and makes him such a prospect in goal for Liverpool as well as England?

Okay, you know anyone that can go an entire season without ever making a mistake or letting in a goal??

. However, Dudek's positioning was bad on the Tottenham goal and he gifted Anelka the goal today, so I think other options should be considered.I mentioned at the time Dudek should have watched the near post at Spurs but If you look at the replay of todays gaol you'll see Carragher just redirect the ball with his head when Dudek had it covered, no goalie is quick enough to recover from that. Carra's error not Jerzy's. You can't tell if he called for it though.

I haven't really seen enough of Kirkland, so far all I can say is that he's bigger and in the last match he played, he came off his line too far and got in trouble more than once.

Do u think a player who sits on the bench all season deserves to play for the Mighty LFC? u must be kidding!!!

Rustu, a 31 years old who lost his place to Victor Valdes, a 22 years old, i'd say only Valdes might stand a chance to play for us though!!

Boohoo. They can let in goals, just not hand strikers goals on platters, like Dudek did today. And by the way, Rustu outplayed Kahn in the 2002 World Cup.

Well, you raise some good points there - I'm sure Rafa & co. would snap Rustu up as quickly as possible if Clarky & the boys could only get you on the phone to him for 30 seconds.

I'm not sure if Parma's still in economical trouble - but if they are, a Sebastian Frey would be rather nice. He'd be "cheap" - and he's still young. even has several years of Serie A experience to boot.
If it has to be a Spanish fella, Canizares, Valdes and Casillas are the only real subjects - Prats and Molina are imo both too old.

Rustü - no thanks.

Well, although I don't think you really need a keeper, Mickael Landreau of Nantes is pretty good, and wouldn't cost much. Stick with Kirkland though, if he ever goes 5 games without breakign a limb, he'll be pretty damn good.

I don't know why everyone thinks Kirkland will be any good. I haven't seen anything special out of him.
