Did I read this right?

15-0?

wtf???

I know the german amateur divisions are poor, but this is surely taking the p**s.

Schonberg (A) 0-15 Kaiserlautern [R]
[Nerlinger 19, Zandi 44, 45, 68, Jancker 51, 58, 61, 71, 77, 85, Teber 54, 57, 82, Kosowski 74, Englehardt 88]

This must surely be a record....

I guess Shönberg kinda gave up in the second half. It's definitly not an usual result for a cup game.

Things like that happen in any country. It`s also not a rarity for an amateur side to eliminate a first division side. Thus your comment on the German amateurs beign "weak" is far off the mark.

I said it was "poor" if you had cared to read my thread.

Anyways - i don't want to aggrivate anyone (amazing how people get so tetchy ffs.)

Yes I know the quality is good, but its not the same class as the Bundesliga is it? If Arsenal thump Donacater 15-0 in the FA cup it would be a turn up for the books. But it rarely happens - due to the teams putting up a reslient fight.

I'm not saying that the amatuer league is poor and "gee they must get stuffed every week 8-0!!!" I'm just saying that the result was a bizzare one, especially against a amateur side. Its just the fact they lost so heavily is what i find amusing.

Well, your initial post wasn't extremely diplomatic.

And double-digits are very rare results in the German cup. As far as i know this was only the third time since 1935 that a team won with 15 or more goals difference. The all-time record is 17:0 (during WWII).

Hamburg didn't seem to think the "amateur divisions" are poor.

Now can the K-town keep this scoring run going at the Bundesliga level? Everyone had better watch out in that case.

If you think 15 - 0 is funny then let me tell you this : Carsten Jancker, thats right, carsten Jancker SCORED A GOAL. In fact, he scored 5 goals. Now, that stuff s really hillarious.

They said that Schönberg is one of the weakest teams of their Oberliga and will probably get relegated to the Verbandsliga. So the result isn't really
a big suprise. Even 2nd league and Regionalliga teams would have beaten Schönberg pretty easily although i remember that SSV Ulm actually beat some pro team last year and they were playing Verbandsliga then.

Funny result anyway, 17:0 was the record in Germany.
But Australia (NT) has beaten one other (don't know) 41:0.
Before I forgot Bor. Mönchengladbach vs. Bor. Doofmund 13:0.

Greetings to Doofmund.
