I think he's gone. Today's cup result should be enough to seal it.

Most of it is his on fault. Changing formations, playing Wicky everywhere except in D-mid where they have no one of quality etc. Where is that young Dane, I think Jakobson he seemed as a decent RB?

They sell sell Ujafalusi for 6 mil than offer only 3 mil for Gravesen.
Who decided to let Fukal and Maltritz to go?
This is one seriously screwed up club.

Wacky prediction of the year : Toppmoller will take over Lautern before the end of this season and "save " them from relegation.

yeah he's had a bad start - but surely this is far too early?

I'll admit that maybe keeping him the job longer could jepordise Hamburg's future.

I think your'e spot on with Gravesen, I'd prefer to see him playing at Centre midfield. Mpenza, hasn't done it (had 1 good season in Germany for me.)
And they look very suspect at the back.

They are fast becoming the german footballing equivilant of Man City.

As for Topmoller saving 'lautern from relegation - who knows? anythings possible in the bundesliga? :D

He's now lost 5 competetive games in a row with a team he claims is his choice. If he doesn't get Gravesen right now they'll probably lose the next games also. I don't see him turning this around.

Poor guy, he should team up with Keving Keegan and hit the bars.

Yes, when Kevin played in Hamburg it was a big club.
And Kevin was a wonderful player, one of the worlds best at this time.

But now Hamburg is a shadow of itself, the team is worst but the the coach is good, so i think it's better to give the coach another half year.
New coaches they've enought in the last time, but the team was alway worst.

I got to agree with the Keegan and Man city comparisons. They let too many defenders go with little in return. Gravesen would have been a good pickup, had they got him.

But isn't Toppy like Keegan in his favoring attacking play? He has a good team, now he just has to get the most out of them. i kind of wonder why they got Mpenza as well, did'nt they see how he struggled for Shalke?

Keith's Response: I don't think Toppmoeller is as great a coach as many think he is. However, I think he deserves until at least mid-season with this club. They need time to "gel". They have so many new players and they sold their defensive anchor before the start of the season and still have not replaced him.

I'm in no way a Klaus Toppmoeller fan, but even he deserves a better chance than this.......

Just wanted to say something about HSV and not start a thread. I think they’ve gotten two absolute steals this summer. I only saw Moreira for 20 mins v Hertha but he showed excellent skill.
Boulachrouz is also great he’s already a starter for the Netherlands. I think they could start a positive run now, Topi just has to start Moreira.

Benching the clubs best player (mahdavikia) and selling the clubs best defender (Ulfalusi) is not what the HSV fans had asked for.

Toppmoller is surely on a thin red line, another loss in the bundesliga to bielefield next week will surely meen arrivederchi to toppi.

The problem in Hamburg isn`t really the coach, how often they change them, the problem is the team and some other things around, same like Berlin.

I agree. Boulahrouz was an absolute steal. Moreira was maybe the best playmaker in Belgium last year. It's just too bad for Toppi. This club has talent, but its fans (not the ones posting here, mind) have to get over themselves first.
