Insipred by stadium talk - i couldn't give this a miss.
The question is:
What is your favorite french football stadium?
Choices are:
1. Stade Abbé-Deschamps - Auxerre
2. Stade Stade Grimonprez-Jooris - Lille
3. Stade Félix Bollaert - Lens
4. Parc des Princes - Paris
5. Stade Route de Lorient - Rennes
6. Stade de la Beaujoire - Nantes
7. Stade Saint-Symphorien - Metz
8. Stade de la Meinau - Strasbourg
9. Stade Gerland - Lyon
10. Stade Geoffroy-Guichard - Saint Etienne
11. Stade Chaban Delmas - Bordeaux
12. Stade de la Mosson - Montpellier
13. Stade Vélodrome - Marseille
14. Stade Louis II - Monaco
15. Stade de France - Paris (St Denis)
Okay - I've hand picked what i consider the best 15 stadiums in France. I've chosen one from nearly every region and at least one from every major city. I know Monaco isn't technically part of France, but i'm counting it as a French league ground. Sometimes people may say, oh you haven't got stadium x, oh and why don't you have this? Just calm down... These are what I consider the best of all league grounds in France. (despite having a fondness of the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Cannes.)
To pick your favourite, you may want to try to think of a certain number of criterias:
Like -
Crowd noise - how loud it can get, and how is the atmosphere?
Location? - is it crap to get to? is it situated miles from anywhere? What are the surrondings like?
Looks? Hey does it look nice? Inside and outside?
Previous experience - been? liked it?
Tradition? - Is it old? Is it new? What are the pros and cons? good or bad?
Capacity against atmosphere - small crowd - good atmosphere or large crowd - no sounds whatsoever?
Food/Drink/Bathroom? - what are the facilites like?
Hopefully, this help make your decision... Or it could not... The decision is up to you. Simply choose your favourite ground and say why. If you like the old wooden stand or just plain like the stadium - then its your choice I guess...There are some favourites and some unsual ones too.
