Liverpool needs to get rid of Henchoz, Finnan, Haaman, Sina Pongolle and move for some better players. Saviola is available or try a Brazilian. South America has better strikers than Pongolle, Mellor and even Baros. Baros still hasn't proven himself at Anfield. Come on Liverpool!!! Man U, Arsenal and now Chelsea are moving too far ahead of us. It's time to do something about it. People are now putting us in the same class as Newcastle, Aston Villa, Charlton. PLEASE just bring back the 70's and 80's.

Funny, I thought we were already going through a makeover.

But feel free to send your millions to LFC, and I'm sure the board will be more than happy to make the changes you desire.

well.. you certainly know your stuff... Henchoz certanly is ending towards the end of his life, he knows that, as Im sure raffa does.. its no secret that liverpool are looking for a new centre back... Jamie carragher is being tried out there, and alonso has the capability to drop back into defence...

Finnan... hes actually a good squad player, very adaptable, can play defence or has been shown midfield... whats better him, or 2 million.. id keep him as a squad player to fill in personally...

Hamman is about to be replaced by an extrememly good young spaniard called alonso who is rated very highly.. enough said really...

Baros... hasnt even had a chance to prove himself for liverpool.. hes been ruddy injured for crying out loud... But i think euro 2004 gave everyone a glance of what he is capable of... Anyway.. no striker at liverpool has ever performed recently.. do you think there is a reason Baros, Heskey, El Hadj have all been dissapointing... because they where expected to play a game that revolved around micheal owen.. maybe now hes gone we can actually see what the other strikers can do when they have a bit of freedom.. (read a meaningless sta recently that said that 72% of heskeys goals where scored when owen wasnt on the field... seems very high.. but also beleivable)

As for SP... well we havnt really had a chance to see him in action properly yet, but bearing in mind how many raffa has shown the door already SP is still there.. that says something for his ability..

As for makeover.. Cisse, Alonso..... Im not even going to continue (IN)
Owen, Murphy, Deof, Le Tallac, Cheyrou.. etc etc (OUT)

sounds like a makeover to me... whaddya want us to do... sign chelsea?????

Oh, be nice. He's just a newbie.

Sometimes, they're just misguided souls who just need to be nudged (or whipped, as the case may be) in the right direction. Only some of us were born with great wisdom and intellect.

sorry.. its called sarcasm.. comes from being born in lancashire.. :D

On a side note.. welcome to this lovely little bit of the world.. and forgive the sarcasm.. yes, the team does need a bit of tweaking, but I guess i kinda thought that was happening...

Actually.. i dont think it did.. losing danny and micheal was probably a positve as far as the dressing room went.. weve always had the players, they just didnt perform.. I thought wed got rid of the trouble when rednapp, mcmanamamamaman went etc.. but obviously not..

That said.. the players weve picked up, look "INVERTED COMMAS" potentially world class "INVERTED COMMAS".. Alonso certainly.. Im dying to see him and gerrard perform together, and both so young (god.. that would fit on a porn site)...

Im feeling really positive about the way things are going... Still the goalkeeper debate.. Is dudeck good enough..??? But that one will go on and on..

:D

raffas revolution WILL be telivised...

Being born in Liverpool myself I missed your Lancashire sarcasm. It tastes a bit different in woolyback land does it? ;)

PLEASE just bring back the 70's and 80's.I think that if our makeover is to be successful in the long run, there is something to be said about slow and meaningful change. Afterall, getting a new manager and back room staff must be unsettling for the squad. I'd be afraid that whole sale changes such as the ones that you are suggesting might disrupt even further the fluidity of our squad. Not that I don't think we need changes, I just think slow and steady is good. Plus, it will give our new players a chance to improve their English!

hmm.. yeh.. lets see which one gets the scouse accent first...

Ian rush after ten years still made no sense at all.. jan Molby had a scouse accent about 6 weeks after arriving...

is it me, or was Owens voice always a little grating... (no im not bitter..... just still got his little gruff voice going on about joining the best team in the world ringing in me ears)

I may be new to this site but I've been watching Liverpool for 15 years and I am still very much playing football now at 23. So maybe you need sit back and read what REAL football lovers have to say

Listen mate I am 40 and don't take kindly to whippersnappers like you speaking out of turn. Go and read the newbie thread that Matt created. It was directed at you.

For Your Information: I was born and bred in Liverpool and lived there for more than 25 years. I know what REAL football lovers have to say. You have shown little to no insight so far and I am doubting you ever will.

So have you gone over to Anfield to drop off your 25 million pounds yet?

I do hope the makeover starts sooner than later though.

No offense, but because you've spent the last three years never leaving this site, we are supposed to believe that you've cornered the market in knowledge of Liverpool? Of football in general?
Have you even played the game at a high level?

Played at the University level in England and were second in the country in 1985, and still play at the rec level, played for Liverpool school boys way back in the 1970s, I currently coach and have a FIFA license, and was an ever present season ticket holder at Anfield in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s.

Saw Liverpool at Heysel in 1985, Hillsborough in 1989, Wembley countless times, Olympic Stadium in Rome in 1984, went to all 4 semi finals against Arsenal in 1979 (Hillsborough, Villa Park x 2, and Highfield Rd (cov)) off the top of my head ...

My favorite story on this was the conversation between Avi Cohen and Dalglish when Cohen first arrived.

Cohen: You and me...the same.

Dalglish: Huh?

Cohen: You and me...no English.

That story may not be true, though, because I think English is mandatory in Israeli schools. I'm not so sure about Scotland, though.

meow! This thread is getting good.
well, JiggaMan (and yes, I know who Jay-Z is), the reality is we are making over the team with fiscal responsibility (Leeds anyone?) and within the parameters of the new gaffer's style. He knows what he wants and he is off getting it.

As for the whole 'who is more down' about football bull**********, please! Support your fellow supporters and newbies like you (and me) just hafta take our lumps. Not the most insightful topic, but here we are posting... chill. I don't need to have scored at Wembley to know that I like the direction we're heading and that the side is being made into a true contender.

mmkay?
mmkay!
