1. WE WILL BE AT NATHAN HALE'S ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18TH FOR USA SOCCER, 7PM

On Wednesday, Aug. 18 the USA takes on Jamaica at the Office in Kingston, Jamaica as World Cup Qualifying action gets serious. The game is live at 7p.m. ET / ESPN2 and we'll be watching at Nathan Hale's- New York's home for USA Soccer.

We will have beer specials, a raffle of two Metrostars playoff tickets, and possibly some other items.

Come down, hang out, down a few beers and watch the USA take out Jamaica live.

Nathan Hale's is conveniently located near the 1/2/3/4/5/6/9/A/C/E/R/W and Path trains in downtown Manhattan. (Chambers St./Park Place/City Hall stops).

We will see you there.

2. NATHAN HALE'S CLOSED SATURDAY

Nathan Hale's will be closed this Saturday, so there is no watch party for the 9pm game vs. Colorado. We will try to organize a plan B at the Kettle of Fish on Christopher St., but stay tuned for details.

3. NEXT HOME GAME: SUNDAY, AUGUST 29 vs. COLUMBUS.

GET BACK OUT THERE AND GO NUTS!!!!

Metro have a huge home game on Sunday, August 29th vs. Columbus. This game will help decide first place in the Eastern Conference, and after the whole Danny Szetela screw job they tried to lay on us, let's face it: we owe those fookers an asswhoopin.

We need everyone out there. It's the last home game for the college kids, it's the last summer Sunday game before the reality of Labor Day and the inexorable march towards winter, it's....a Metro game. Get out there people, we need your help.

4. THE DOUBLE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH

The USA hosts El Salvador at 4pm. If you aren't going up to Foxboro, head over to Hale's for a watch party live.

Second game on the docket is Metro vs. Wizards at 8:30pm.

We'll talk more about this as the time gets closer, but you've got a 4 day weekend, and if you don't spend at least one of them watching soccer, we're going to have to shoot you. So thanks for helping out.

5. SAVE THA DATE: OCTOBER 9, USA v. EL SALVADOR

It's the return match, and it's only on Pay Per View. We're working on planning a private match viewing party at Nathan Hale's with a live band and the game live on TV. So, time and details are being worked out, but please save the date for a rockin' ESC/USA Soccer Party.

sounds like a great event.

maybe we can get them to sing the play-by-play?

Metal Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously - looking forward to the 9th. SO this will be much like the USA-HOnduras game. I sure as hell hope so

and ******** the ES Federation for trying to make a ton of money off their immigrants and forcing us to pay for the game.

It's a bit iffy on that date, just maybe we should have written "Save the Idea". There is a Metro game that day at 7:30pm, and who knows when Concacaf will schedule the event.

If we can't do it that night, we'll try for either the following Wednesday (Oct 13th vs. Panama (game is at RFK but on a weeknight not too many people will be making the trip) or the final first round game, Wednesday, November 17th vs. Jamaica (game is at Columbus).

So, stay tuned.

FYI, the band would likely play like 3-4 songs before the game and 4-5 after, or something. They would not play during the actual game, as none of us wants to be DJ Greggy Greg Andrulis, piping in the drive time Zoo over the game action.

I'll be at Nathan Hale's tonight after I get off from work. Might have a friend with me.

Should I get the General Admission tickets for the Foxboro game if there are any left?
