Sebastian Frey is a class above all keepers except Buffon. His reflex is out of this world.

Thank You. I am trying but it’s hard when mods already have an awesome image of you.

Just like any other rankings that have "the best" in the opening title, this thread is pointless, if not dumb. We all have a different notion of "the best." If anything, it should be "Who's YOUR favorite goalkeeper in the world." There are a lot of world class keepers out there, and soccer is a team game, not individual sport like boxing where it can (also arguably) be argued that someone is the best in the world at this time if he holds the title.

if u don't think boruc is best check him out on you tube or just watch for club and country week in week out.
I see the fact that I live in Scotland evaded you.
the fact u live in scotland then u should know how good boruc is. but then i bet you don't actually see him live every game for celtic and i take it you don't watch any poland games either.

Probably the only time i'll ever agree with something Zippy has said.

What a horrible poll.
Best in the world is definitely Buffon.

Keep the shite coming Bhoy. He wasn't even the best keeper in Scotland until Gordon moved out, let alone in Britain or Europe or the rest of the World. He's an above average shot stopper and good at saving penalties but so is Reina and he isn't in the top five either. Oh, and the above is how you quote a post. It's rather simple.

Boruc is world class without a doubt. I'm surprised you live in Scotland and argue otherwise. Your post is also a further proof that this poll is meaningless. You throw names around that YOU think are better or best, but it is only your subjective opinion and carries as much weight as anybody else's or even less if you're being an a-hole to another member. Look back at the posts and see how many names have already been mentioned. There is no objective criteria that can possibly be used to judge a goalkeeper. How many goals he allowed is as much a function of his ability as of the performance of the defensive players, to keep a simple argument. Ability to stop PKs is arguably more objective but it's only a relatively small part of a keeper's overall value.

The best goalkeeper at the moment and probz in europe is arsenals keeper Jens Lehmann!!!!!! he has been ace this season. Look at some of his saves on youtube!! :)

Hahahahahahahaha! You slay me!
Buffon is the man, Coupet 2, Freidel 3, Casillas4.
Cech was 2 until his injury

I agree with all of you about Buffon he really is world class.
Sebastian Frey is amazing
and my new favorite Craig Gordon is too.
Lenham was pretty good but not anymore at all.

Congratulations on making the term 'world class' redundant. Whine all you wish but my point remains. Boruc is simply not good enough in terms of attributes and performances to be considered the best. Stop defending a clearly biased Celtic fan and get a grip.

1. Buffon
2. Casillas
3. Cech

That is the generally accepted top three, who are in a tier of their own.

1. Buffon - consistency, loyalty to Juve, amazing saves at every level (including World Cup final)
2. Casillas - kept Madrid alive through their barren years in recent times, the rest of the squad finally looks to be catching up and Iker still has his best years ahead of him
3. Cech - hard to argue with his performances, has done brilliantly to come back from a serious injury as well
4. Boruc - consummate professional apart from a few religiously-motivated incidents in the Old Firm derbies, a nice guy to boot (http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/tm_headline=exclusive%2D-celtic-star%2Ds-thug-fury%26method=full%26objectid=18942870%26siteid=64736-name_page.html). Amazing at penalty saves and will likely be in a bigger league in a few years.
I don't rate Reina or any of the German keepers at this level, people can point to Pepe's clean sheet record but that has a lot to do with Liverpool playing with a solid defensive mindset and two defensive midfielders (from Alonso, Masch, Alonso and occasionally Gerrard).
