What le PSG needs is a blowout win against Istres. At least 3 goals to nil would be a good result because they are going to need every amount confidence against Chelsea in the Champions League and Monaco in Ligue 1.

i think the psg only have a lack of confidence.
considering their players they could at least compet for an european qualification next yer ( ie within the 5first club in L1 this year).
But it seems that coach vahid isn't really good to make his players confident.
the departures of fiorese points out this fact i think.
on the other hand, considering the number of player baught and sold during th mercato , psg team should need a little more time to play well together. ( such as marseille who had a better start though).

Yeah the Vahid/Fab saga lingers on. Really want to knwo what happened there.

Tradionally Marseille usually start well, but falter after christmas. Whereas PSG always start badly and go on a good run after winter......:)

As fans of the Red and Blue, why we are still being treated with a cheap website for our club? The website has not changed in three years. That is an eternity for a website to continue without any changes. No Flash animation, non use of PHP and other web programming languages instead of HTML. Check out this link: http://www.archive.org and type in www.psg.fr/fr/home/0,,,00.html in the waybackmachine textbox and you will see what I'm referring to. Compare PSG's website with other major clubs you can think of and you will see how our club's site is so far behind in its web design.

yeah it needs to be changed, the allpsg website is good, but not brilliant.

I thought we were getting a new one though. Loko hane changed theirs and now I can't navigate around it and all the cool pictures have gone....:(

Lets hope they improve it, but keep the content available.

Big update, i promise guys......

It looks as if PSG French internationals had a bizzare end to their international call up stint. Both Bernard Mendy and Jerome Rothen were left stranded in Torshavn after fog (or in french "brouillard"...) left the airport grounded....... :(

They arrived back in Paris at Friday afternoon and obviously they haven't had time to join up with the squad. This means they may not be able for selection on Saturday.....

Unbelieveable no? Just what we need.......

Interview with "King" Reinaldo

http://www.psgbyboca.com/images/reinaldo.jpg

Always handicaped by a bandage on the right hand. Reinaldo particpated in an advertising "spot" for Manpower, new partners of the club. After challenging Jerome Alonzo, under the orders of the director on the scene, the Brazilian attacker answered questions to waiting journalists.

Rei...,What do you make of your season?
My first game was a draw, the second clearly better, but the third one, much satisfactory in the second half. I am clear about my performances and I hope again that I can bring more to PSG. I am obessed by the goal. For an attacker, it has to be like this.

So, you aren't really satisfied with the start of the season?
Effectively, these two weeks without a game has been a good thing for all concerned. After the last season, our supporters, expect alot. We much quickly get our season started and it is imperative that we get a win. This will be our main objective against Istres on Saturday.

Do you feel additional pressure before this game in the south?
In Paris, the pressure is always there. The path for victory, is missing right now. I can't explain our lack of success. Training before the season, was almost perfect, we are relaxed but the victories don't happen. Its difficult to explain....

Is the moral effected?
No, the team doesn't lower their heads. we simply need a first victory, to free us and start the work we made last season. As early as Friday, we will concentrate for the match at Istres. This will be our PSG-Chelsea!

How are coping with the departure of Fabrice Fiorese?
The players go on, the club continues. The manager has to find an attacking replacement for Fiorese. Pancrate and Coridon have arrived recently and they are looking to help us get our first win.

Interview with "le boss" ahead of PSG v Istres....

http://www.lnf.fr/upload/images/articles/0304_psg_lens_j12_halilhodzic_art.jpg

With the stadium in Istres being under construction, it is to Nimes that Paris and Vahid Halilihodzic will atempt to get their first three points of the season. The first of seven vital games await Paris in the next 21 days. Between the league Championship and Champions League there will be some intense moments. Especially for the fans....!

Vahid are you inspired by the comments made by Anigo ("t*sser") concerning the Fiorese saga?
Not really. This story has disgusted more than I would like to say. I prefer others to talk on the matter. I have said what I have said and that is all. I am concentrating on the football team right now. I am not the only one to get fired up this. The players are aslo keen to turn it around as well.

Have you changed like Fabrice Fiorese has said?
I simply ask more from my players. (you f*****g quitter Fab.....) More work and harshness too. For the first time I have spoken to my players of the sold player. I explained that after a good season, Its always difficult to follow it up the year after. In soccer its difficult. Every morning at the training ground, I also ask myself this question.

What concerns you the most of the start of PSG's season?
We started the league championship very poorly. We don't understand how it has happened. If the group must react, this is how we must do it. I have persuaded others that the team will show their worth outside of France. The response for us is on the football pitch.

What is the physical state of your new signings?
Coridon will be in the team to confront Istres, Helder and Pancrate will be in the reserve team during the week, as does Ljuboja. I haven't decided against playing him on Saturday. I am hoping on the freshness of the international players who played over the week, (Cana Pauleta, Rothen and Mendy.) Nevertheless, we have seven games in 21 days and the team needs to turn it around.

How did you find this mini-break?
We worked in a reduced Training camp. I have also the impression that team has been liberated from club duty for a while. We haven't been able to work tactically, but these 15 days has allowed us to recover physically. We had intially planed a re-oxgenation (wtf???) at Deauville, but the internationals away meant we had to cancel it.

Istres or Chelsea? Which is the most important game for PSG?
Well first of all we must concentrate on the league, then focus on Chelsea in Europe. Istres involves alot of enthuasim and aggression, we will approach this as a cup game. There aren't any small teams in Ligue 1. The difference is just mental.

Any words on the presence of Phillipe Delaye (see above photo) at the club's training ground?
Phillipe simply asked for a helping hand. He's a great guy and I have allowed him to train with us. This shows that nothing is never obtained in soccer. It doesn't go as far as him signing for PSG.

Well this is for you Mel Brennan even if you have changed your Avatar.

BTW: Pro Evolution 4 will have the Parc des Princes as a selectable stadium.... I also hope they get Ljuboja's haircut right....

Vahid Halilhodzic

I guess he knows about racism coming from the race cauldron of trouble that is Bosnia.... :(

Istres v PSG

Welcome to tonight's game in Nimes, temporary home of Ligue 1 newboys Istres. After a disappointing start, PSG will be hoping for a crucial win tonight, as they prepare for 7 games in 21 days....Game 1 starts here....3 points are needed, no question....

A late withdrawl has seen Pauleta dropped to the bench and being replaced by Ogbeche. Saifi comes in for Montano Caicedo for Istres.

late kickoff....

2" - GOAL!!! 1-0  - PSG make an awful start - conceding after just a few minutes...Chedli capitalizes on a bad error by Yepes and swings the ball into the box. Safiri powers the ball past Letizi to make it 1-0 after just 2 minutes.

4" - Saifi's goal has buoyed the home team. But sadly Thiam has to be taken off on a stretcher, with a seriously bad injury.

6" - Paris must react quickly after being stunned by the hosts.

8" - Another darting run by the goal-scorer Saifi, who shoots at goal but Letizi holds the ball well.

10" - Subsitution - The injured Thiam is replaced by Kehiha

12" - PSG are playing very poorly at the minute and the game is turning quite scrappy.

14" - PSG retain more possesion but aren't using it to effect.

16" - PSG are making some few daft errors, M'Bami seems incapbale of passing the ball simply to Armand, who fails to control. PSG need to shape up.

18" - Saifi goes on another mazy dribble but is stopped in his tracks.

20" - The pace of the game is slowing down. PSG make no real attempt to change the score-line.

22" - Big foul on Rothen, he plays it on the left, but is tugged to ground by Chedli, near the box. Nothing is given.

24" - PSG start to threaten more, but again, no real final product. Rothen and M'Bami remain the best of a bad bunch...

26" - First chance of the match for Paris. Rothen spins away and delivers to the far post. Ogbeche strecthes himself at it, but he hits the side netting.

28" - Istres have alot of possesion in the PSG half, but to no avail. Paris seem content to get the ball clear at all attempts.

30" - Courtois speeds away and is stopped by the boot of Badiane. Excellent play by Istres.

32" - Free-kick by N'Diaye is blocked by the wall. Courtois tries ambitously to score but his shot lacks any conviction form 20 yards out.

34" - PSG push for an equlasier, Chelsea and co are no doubt laughing at this for Tuesday's game.

36" - Corner by Rothen is met by the head of Pierre-Fanfan, whose header flies over, for another corner. PSG increase their dead-ball situations.

38" - Istres seem more into the game than PSG at the minute - ALLEZ!!! FFS!!!

40" - Subsitution - Badiane who has been very poor, comes off for Lorik Cana.

42" - Istres look very well organised but can't seem to get possesion of the ball.

44" - Great chance for PSG. Rothen delivers a sublime ball to Reinaldo, but the Brazilian can't meet it.

45+1" - Yellow Card! - Ogbeche for a clumsy challenge on Saifi.

45+3" - Yellow Card! - Saifi is booted again, this time by Reinaldo.

Halftime......

.....booooooooooooo.........

46" - Subsitution - at half-time, Pauleta on for Cordion.

48" - shot by Armand, goes for a corner. Rothen takes but Yepes can't get to it.

49" - Yellow Card! - For Ilic, his third of the season.

50" - Reinaldo recieves a warning after a challenge and escapes a red card.

52" - PSG play marginally better football than the first half. Rothen shoots but wide.

56" - Again good possession but no play....

59" - Penalty!!! - Cisse is fouled by the goalie Weber and the ref points to the spot.

60" - Yellow Card! - Weber recives a yellow card, could have been red.

60" - Goal!!! :) - Pauleta slots it home to level up. 1-1...

62" - ganu's computer breaks down......ffs WINDOWS 2000....!

68" - free-kick by Pauleta, just misses the top corner.

70" - Yellow Card! - Durmolin for a foul on Cana.

70" - Subsitution - Montano on for N'Diaye

72" - Incredible scramble in the PSG box. Letizi makes two outstanding saves as Saifi, Courtois and Montano all test the PSG goal.

74" - Istres look to step it up....come on PSG!

76" - chance for Istres. 3 were onside facing Letizi, but Yepes comes back to avert the danger, phew....

80" - Subsitution - for the final ten minutes, Boskovic comes on to replace Reinaldo.

82" - Montano runs at his countryman Yepes, but he and Armand stop the danger.

84" - christ this is dull - you are s**t PSG - if you can't even beat Istres, then go back to the s**t you were in two years ago then...

85" - Subsitution - Chaussidiere for Ilic.

87" - Yellow Card! - Armand.....on Montano.

90" - 3 minutes added on.
