I was fixin' to get rid of some old pics in my "My Picture" folder when I think I actually deleted the whole folder instead.
I'm running Windows XP.
And the folder ain't in my Recycle Bin.
Ugh.

Do download.com search for undelete...there are some freeware/shareware prog. out there that may work for you. The key to undeleting is to make sure that you don't write a lot of new data before you try to rescue files, as they are often overwritten, and rendered unrescuable.

I'm guessing you didn't set any 'restore' points in XP's built in utility, either?
How much is it worth to you?
There are companies that do data mining on hard drives that can retrieve almost anything, even after it was erased, but it's not cheap.

Once a file is deleted from the recycle bin (or if it's straight deleted because it's too big for the bin) the OS no longer holds that space - and it's free to overwrite that data with any new files. So you have to act quickly if you want to recover some of those files.
