Something I've noticed this year..... is that if a captain gets subbed, the sub gets the captain's armband.... earning the double points :)

Going into gameweek 3, these are the financial standings.

Observations:
Players on the 1800-UK.com and Trollpop Aviation teams are worth a little more than their league positions suggest, while the traders don't have a lot of faith in the selections of Kill The Man U Scum and Chelsea in PA.

Hal,

Team Boss (http://195.92.251.79/New/servlet/DreamLogin?homeid=494114&language=ENGLISH) have done a re-design on the site.

The teams are now graphical and the the transfer arrows are back in place :)

The transfer deadline is midnight on Fridays (UK time) -- which I missed for the start of October.

At least Derek Smith is £600 richer after scoring 257 points (http://195.92.251.79/New/servlet/MainScreen2?id=2190787) in September.

In the Top Boss League, 1800-WorldCup.com is currently leading Aviators by 5 points. The World Cup team is also 25th out of all Tottenham fans but a miserable 733 overall.

If anyone else wants to join in, go to http://www.teamboss.co.uk/

Our Challenge League is:

Ok Gang,

Today is knockout time......

Gameday 3 is the 1st Round decider and this is how things are looking.

League Cup

1800-UK.com lead Cape Tribulation by a narrow margin of 1...... and 1800-UK.com have the better Team Value.

Kopite Juniors have a comfortable 34 point lead over Kill The Man U Scum..... and they lead the Team Value stakes.

Jones Cracked Wheat are struggling to find form and are trailing London St. Germain by 31 points..... the team is also in financial trouble.

Chelsea in PA have a narrow 3 point advantage over Trollpop Aviation..... but will miss out if it comes to the financial decider.

FA Cup

Jones Cracked Wheat could be going out of both competitions, as they trail Kill The Man U Scum by 32 points as well.

Trollpop Aviation trail Cape Tribulation by 2 points and may again be counting on their financial gain to keep them afloat.

London St. Germain, after a poor start to the season, go into the match against Chelsea in PA with a 3 point advantage..... they also have a better Team Value.

Kopite Juniors look the best bet to progress in both cups as they hold a massive 38 point lead over Glenn Hoddle's 1800-UK.com :(
___________________________

Hoddle is hoping to get one over on Terry Venables, or he may be approaching Jones Cracked Wheat for a couple of friendly matches.

The transfer window for Gameweek 3 is now closed and the only team not to dive into the pool, as yet, is Captain Splarg's Kill The Man U Scum (and officially, Cape Tribulation).

Game on!

No surprises from league leaders, Kopite Juniors (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=611187&event=9), who will be relying on their strike force of Henry (C), Bellamy and Shearer (at home to Sunderland and West Brom) to pile misery on the rest of the league. If Henry's hamstring lets him down on Sunday, Griffin will step in to take the captain's armband..... Glenn Hoddle is hoping that this will be the case and West Brom get a 5-0 away win to accompany a Leeds Victory at Villa.

No real strategy from 2nd placed Kill The Man U Scum (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=625140&event=9) who line up with an injured Grainger in their back four, to be replaced by Wei Feng (if he plays at Old Trafford) or Man City's Berkovic. Robinson keeps the captain's armband -- away to Aston Villa.

While Kevin Keegan is not sure whether to leave Anelka alone upfront, Captain Splarg has Owen alongside him.

London St. Germain (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=623734&event=9) stay with the 4-4-2 formation that earned them an equal top score of 66 last week, switching the captain from Kewell (away to Aston Villa) to van Nistelrooy (home to Everton). Everton's Tie comes in as first sub to replace Cole of Chelsea.

Chelsea in PA (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=611739&event=9) have changed from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 -- swapping Taylor for Rufus at the back and bringing in Ljungberg to the middle of the park while pushing penalty scorer Dwight Yorke down to second sub. Third sub Keown is still carrying an injury.

In an attempt to score 40 points more than the current runaway leaders, 1800-UK.com (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=623688&event=9) have gone for broke! Glenn Hoddle has spoken to his faith healer and she says to have faith in Schmeichel at Southampton and bring in Lauren for Hibbert; in the hope that Arsene Wenger starts him and he scores one while assisting another. In form Ryan Giggs takes over the captain's armband from the lacklustre Bower, while Zola is dropped for Bart-Williams. If Charlton don't play him at Fulham than the double-barreled named-one will be transfer-listed.

1800-UK.com also need to hope that Henry finds playing on Sunday too much of a stretch, Alan Shearer headbutts Craig Bellamy, Sol Campbell has flu, Carragher sees red, Gilberto Silva has to fly back to Brazil and Enckelman sprains his ankle.

Terry Venables has shuffled his Cape Tribulation (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=625128&event=9) pack, while staying with a 3-5-3 formation -- Jones steps in for Kiely, Silvestre for Unsworth and McAteer for the transfer-listed Jenas.

Trollpop Aviation (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=621331&event=9) have their options limited, with two injured defenders (Finnan and Ziege) sitting on the bench but make use of their keeper switch -- Schwarzer in for Keller. Wiltord takes over the captain's role from the injured Ziege, while Middlesbrough's Nemeth and Geremi are both drafted in. If Baros (home to Chelsea) doesn't get a kick, Fortune (away to Fulham) will come in at the back.

Other managers in Jones Cracked Wheat (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=616031&event=9)'s position -- 30 points behind the chasing pack -- might have been tempted to be more adventurous in the transfer market.... but with extra transfers costing 4 points and the team value dipping below 100M, Dr Jones is hoping that Birmingham and West Brom can pull off considerable away performances at West Ham and Newcastle.

If Kopite Juniors don't progress in both cups and Jones Cracked Wheat do, then Fantasy Football is a funnier game than the Jimmy Greaves edition.

Any bookmakers in the house to offer odds?

I can't get into my team to do any editing!

for some reason i can't access it with my linux. I'll be having a new computer soon, and then everything will be ok. (maybe i just forgot my password...) The password request always seems to be down for me...

Actually i'm carrying two injuries right now as Yorke is out for a couple of weeks as well with a recurance of the hamstring pull.....i think i will be making a trade after this weeks performances.

The press have found out that Glenn Hoddle is sleeping with his faith healer and she is also giving Schmeichel her services.....

This has obviously left the Great Dane weak at the knees, as Brett Ormerod wipes the smile off his face in the second minute.

Meanwhile Ehiogu is content to score -- from the back -- for the team and not for himself.... and Igor Balis gives West Brom a 27th minute lead at St James' Park.

Schmeichael has actually been the best player on the pitch even though Soton are up 2-0 at half time (Ormerod with both) He has made 7 big saves so far, two of them being world class.

Stern John also has a pair of goals as Brum are up 2-1 at Upton Park.

Its all square at HT at St. James with Shearer cancelling out Balis' opener.

A few more big saves (and a 5 point bonus for playing a blinder) and Glenn Hoddle might ignore the rumors in the press.

Could have done without Alan Shearer scoring and hope that Craig Bellamy didn't provide the assist....

.... but half time scores look like:

Trollpop Aviation 25 points from 5 players (Nemeth is a sub)
Kill The Man U Scum 17 points from 4 players
1800-UK.com 15 points from 2 players
Jones Cracked Wheat 15 points from 4 players
Kopite Juniors 12 points from 4 players
Cape Tribulation 10 points from 2 players (inc captain)
London St. Germain 8 points from 2 players
Chelsea in PA 6 points from 2 players

Exactly. I'm going to stick with the "one move per week" strategy unless the market starts to move more quickly. Can't afford too many more bad weeks to start the season though. The move for Stern John seems to have paid off this week, and now I've signed Di Canio (dropped Roberts of WB) for 8.5. The team is starting to come together after the disorientation of missing Rounds 4-15 of the draft.

Kopite Juniors are still setting the pace although, like The Boro, Trollpop Aviation are chasing strongly.

I really am happy to see Dr Jones start to crack whip as well.

Kopite Juniors 24
Kill The Man U Scum 20
Jones Cracked Wheat 19
1800-UK.com 15
Cape Tribulation 10
London St. Germain 8
Chelsea in PA 6
