Amen! What's happened to all the passionate exchanges in this forum? We'd been doing so well only to clam up as the season reaches its conclusion!? Sure the title is as good as sewn up but everything else is in contention. Everyone more involved in mfls stuff over in the states now?

No, not at all.
But we have finished our cup contests.
I guess all that's left is to fight it out for second and third place.

BTW
What sanctions should be in place for our own "Glenn Hoddle" who accidentally bought Henry and others this week?

I counted 5 illegal players on his squad this week, which in remedying, will cost him 20 pts minimum. This, when added to all the transfer fees he paid already last week in making the blunder moves (40 pts in deductions) might be enough of a penalty, IMO. Especially since he took on someone like Bernard, who merely sat on his bench illegally, yet will end up costing him 8 in transfer fees.
On the other hand, if others think stricter sanctions are needed, make the case. I may be overlooking some major advantage he got this week towards that nice 56 pt score. (But it seemed to come mostly from his legal players, from what I could tell: Giggs and Pedersen)
Anyway, I'm still working out the percentages of how I can catch the three guys just ahead of me in the standings. John's big week has made 2nd place less likely, but I still have eyes on third. Michel's gaff will bring us to within a couple points of each other going into next week.

I agree with Jay: I think the financial consequences and points lost is karmic payment enough. Obviously this was a blunder and not an attempt to bend the rules, so I don't see a reason to punish too harshly.

Scholes hit 40 points for me all by himself (captained)....anybody else have a bigger earner of the course of the season?

I saw Paul's post on the league message board, and figured it should be addressed here. First, I don't think it's exactly a "dead league." I think there are 3 dead "teams," but the other 5 still seem pretty active. And even Michel's demise is vrey recent, after his accidental transfer fiasco.
Anyway, for the most part, I've thought this league to be very successful for a first time experiment using CYKI's site for a draft league, and am already thinking of ways to improve it for next year.
1) Boot both Splarg and Cape Trib for lack of transfers.
2) Add 4 new managers to get up to a 10 team league, for better player diversity.
3) Request/require that managers limit their EPL teams? This would obviously be tough to police, but I think it's a problem when people have 5 or 6 premiership fantasy teams going at once. As soon as they drop in the standings in one, it tends to be forgotten. It would be nice if managers in our league saw it as their MAIN or, even better, ONLY English fantasy soccer league. Obviously, some people like having multiple teams AND keep up with all of them, but I think it has hurt us this season:
Splarg mixed up his multiple passwords...
Michel transferred for the "wrong" team...

Except that some of those illegal players remain on his roster

Yep...Michel has clearly "checked out" of this league now. Bummer.

He said on the other message board a few weeks ago that he just got out of the hospital with some major medical problems.
Perhaps he had a relapse of some sort?
Hope he's okay and it just a case of being pissed off at the mistake.

I was just checking and found that 1800 UK.com has had Henry since Gameweek 25: 5 weeks with an illegal player. It doesn't seem like Michel to let this pass so let's await an explanation and hope he's OK, I guess?
It's exciting to see some of you already making predictions for next season! Clanblue is welcome to shoot for second place next year... LSG, having already won a runner's up trophy this season in both cups and in the league, will be looking to improve. But we won't relinquish our grasp on second this season, that's for sure! (Boneheaded transfer of Okocha yesterday notwithstanding, that is...)

At 50 points (and counting, second match still to play this week) clear with one week remaining in the season, we at LSG are delighted to claim the Arsenal Memorial Runners' Up Trophy. It's been a great season, let's just hope we can get more managers involved for the next one.

Yes it does inded lok like 2nd is out of my grasp.
Still, it was a fun season and having the drafted league was by far the best fantasy league game i have yet played.
Count me in for next season.
